Good afternoon, friends.
I've finally got my Bimota DB5 Mille (992cc engine, 2005 or 2006) assembled and repaired. It hasn't been ridden on the road yet. We've only started it up. With the previous owner, the bike seized a cylinder. The engine map it has is the original one that came with the Pegasus ECU; I suppose that's what caused so many problems.
My mechanic connected the diagnostic cable, using the Bimota cable and a copy of the Bimota diagnostic program "Bta 1_0" (a very simple program that only shows the name of the map the ECU has, loads other engine maps, displays real-time parameters, and calibrates the throttle).
We've had connection problems; the computer kept freezing and the program wasn't running smoothly, and the motorcycle battery died...
But in the tab that describes the engine map (firmware version), we managed to see that it's "DB5_0002" (dated 01/07/05), which I understand is the dangerous engine map.
I've already contacted some colleagues personally to see if they can help me. Now I'm extending my request here. I need to know which engine map doesn't cause problems. It will be a more recent one than the one my motorcycle has.
And if you could send me the map file (firmware version) so I can install it on the motorcycle (when the time comes), I would be very grateful. My email is jamormar1@upo.es.
And my WhatsApp number is +34 676492225.
On another note, I know there's another program called 'Mini Tune,' which I understand is another program used to modify engine parameters. Is that correct? Is this program exclusive to the Pegasus ECU?
We still need to see if the cable works correctly. But we're afraid that tinkering with it might damage the bike's electronics. I'll keep you updated on our progress with the cable.
Greetings from southern Spain
