Just a shortie...and not really a rant....just an element of commercialism I suppose..........Euro fell to an 8 year low against the good old British Pound today...sinking to 142.5....compared to 1.25 of some 6 months ago....

Makes for some fantastic bargains if bought from Italy, Germany, mainland Eurozone......Have seen Sb6's advertised for 3k GBP...DB2 Tricolors for 3.5K GBP.....DB5R's for 3.8K GBP...etc....Yet in the UK....theres several Used bike dealers snapping up Euro bikes...with headlights wrong way and clocks in Kms etc etc...advertising YB11 for 17K GBP...Santas for 27K GBp...SB8R's for 15K GBP.........and with some of these bikes theres no changing the clocks unless you can find new old stock ones in miles.....

Dfference in market economies between countries I suppose...but as the title says...Buyer beware....theres one "Db2" advertised for sale in Milan....for a bargain....although wrongly titled DB4..yet identical bike and picture of same bike is also in GErmany...albeit correctly described and a lot higher price.........Most guys on here are pretty savvy...but just be careful out there...for every one looking for a bargain...theres someone else looking to profit directly from them.Theres also a few bikes out there clearly mis-titled...and as such mis-leading so do your homework

Rant(ish) over Laughing

That's not really ranting. This problem does exist and is quite an issue in theUS. I use a search engine that looks out for Available Bimotas on the market nationwide. I see V-dues offered for $4k, etc. reached out once to the "seller". Got a response that he is military in deployment, has no access to the cell phone but will gladly accept Western Union transfer. The only thing was that the bike was securely parked at his military home base and he would need to make arrangements to release it to me after the money has cleared his account. BTW, this scam goes either way, whether buying or selling.

What gets me with the scams is that they "dare" to do it with Bimotas.....Its fairly easy for anyone with a moderate ability to search the net to come up with a market value for a particular bike...and then steal the photos for a bogus advert....but its the way they market it just a couple of K off that price...not so cheap that you stay away...but just enough of a bargain to make you interested.........Been through a few of them...and they are everywhere...spain, Italy, UK....never able to answer direct questions about the bike or can and email owners documents....and even when they tell you the town its supposed to be stored in...and you say a mate lives only 5mins from there....theres never anyone around to be able to show you the bike....which is the walk away time...as how could he ever transport the bike to you if no-one is ever there where the bike is............
