Hhmmmm...between the 2 I'd go for the Half fairing version...and not just because of the price difference....At least with the half fairing version routine maintenance would be SO much easier...even just simple topping up of the oil...and I do like the look of the half fairing versions....about as rare as FE's (123 against 100 made)....The FE colour scheme bikes do look better in real life than in photos...the lines of the bodywork dont really translate in 2D...That FE also has the "less desirable" heavier Antera wheels and stock brembo discs...and those lovely green Paioli forks....Some models have the lighter Oscom wheels, silver paioli forks and better IMHO cast iron full floater brembo discs....
DB2FE says it has "factory fitted flatslides" so would be interested to know whats been done to help it breath better...or blow better,,,as the cans look stock..flat slides also means no choke so a bit harder to start....can just see that the carbs are Keihin flat slides...but cant see whether FCR39's or 41's...and evidently the stock airbox has been ditched for K&N cone air filters that are visible where the air box would have once been... |

I know what you mean about access with the full fairing, but it would be still my preference (each to their own) and the FE colour scheme does look good in the flesh. That said it was seeing a fully faired 'standard' DB2 in white/red that had me lusting after one. I take it the Oscam wheels are the straight spoked versions fitted to the'standard' model? _________________ Bimota DB1, Bimota YB5, Bimota YB6 Exup, Bimota YB9 SR, Ducati NCR Replica, Moto Guzzi 750 S3, Honda CR750 race replica, Seeley-Suzuki TR500 |

Where did you see the fully faired Standard Red/White DB2?
Yeh the Oscom wheels were fitted to the early DB2 versions and DB2SR....and bikes like the Early SB6 and YB series.....Theyre lighter than the swirly antera wheels and have smaller and narrower hubs....so carry the large offset cast iron full floater brembo front discs instead also.... |

The white/red DB2 was for sale at Made in Italy M/cycles I think a good few years ago now, it led me to purchasing a Final Edition DB2 from a private seller in 2008. I did prefer the look of standard DB2 wheels to the Anteras. Unfortunately I over-reacted when I was made redundant in early 2009 and sold it, I move I regretted ever since. Over it now though after my recent purchase of a DB1! Starting to work through it to bring it up to scratch and still have the NCR replica bevel to complete. _________________ Bimota DB1, Bimota YB5, Bimota YB6 Exup, Bimota YB9 SR, Ducati NCR Replica, Moto Guzzi 750 S3, Honda CR750 race replica, Seeley-Suzuki TR500 |

Nice another Derbyshire Bimota, although it'll have two less cylinders than a proper one......
Steve......

Hi, sorry for the confusion but Steve is 2Bims. We have an ongoing discussion about how many cylinders a bike should have He's from over Manchester way.
I'm Andy from Derby/Notts area. _________________ Bimotas, Yamaha FZR 2TK, Honda NC30, MV Agusta F3 800, Aprilia RS250 |
