I lost the front brakes on the YB8 at a track day last week and was heading for the gravel trap at the next corner at quite high speed. That was definitley a brown undies moment.
Me thinks it's time to replace the brake fluid. |

I have to replace my brake fluids as well Bud, I should probably look at putting braided lines on too, or at least new hoses _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

More luck than skill I think Stu. It felt like I came a long way out of the seat
So got through the weekend unscathed and then my mate who graciously transported my bike for me, dropped the sb6 when unloading it _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

The body parts and the rt. fork foot left Federal Way in Washington at 4am on the 12th, today, so I should have all of the pieces later today or tomorrow. The right side of the front fairing was around $1100, the right side panel and the tail piece were over 3 grand a piece, $784 for the fork foot, the ally tank turned out to be just a couple hundred more than the plastic one.
I have a hunch that this tank was the prototype for the early bikes, it was not completely finished when I got it. |
Those prices are not getting any better . 3k for the tail unit, now that is impressive.
All bits on their way and spring has sprung, what could be better ??
Soon be time for you to get the 5R out in the sunshine again and enjoy those country roads again |

Yep, broken screen and damaged the top fairing near the screen. Not too bad. I've been going to repaint the top fairing due to the 'normal' cracks in the paint from spreading the fairing to remove. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

The originals on my 2 Bimotas are braided but I've seen reports of the hoses popping out off the fitted ends. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I'll have to contact our new friends at Bimota Classic Parts to see if they have a screen for me. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Thanks Hursty. The damage isn't too bad... Bit of paint and a new screen. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Well I did my first ever race meeting last weekend. Not on a Bim (luckily). I raced a borrowed CBR250R and had a ball. It was at the very small (cart) track that I did a track day with the SB 6 last year not too far from home. The little 250 was perfect for the small track. Racked up my first race crash too . No real damage done. Really need to rev those little 4 cylinder 250's. Power comes on around 15 - 17k and red lines at 18k _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |
