Beautiful bike! You can rely on beautiful engineered details with a Bimota.
From what I can see, it's an unusual rear swingarm set up. Is the top of the shock attached to the top of the swingarm arms only, as it usually attaches to the frame? The arms aren't triangulated, so I wonder why they run them from the axle area? They could have brought them from close to the swingarm pivot. |

Hi Bud,
Yes, the shock is connected to the swingarm at both ends.
A cantilever bracket at the bottom compresses the shock upwards as weight is applied and the top of the shock moves only slightly forward.
The complete swingarm and shock assembly is unsprung weight.
I have owned a lot of sports bikes (916SP1, 916SP2, 1098 tricolour) but have never felt front or rear suspension move with so little stiction.
I will take some pix of the whole assembly later this week if you like _________________ DB9S

Congratulations on the new bike, where abouts are you located? There are a few of us in Oz scattered about. |

Thanks for the description Tri. I haven't seen this on any other bike. Bimota strikes again. |
