Thought I would put up a few pictures of what will face you when the sprag bearing plays up.
After the initial fairings off and the clutch cover and pressure plate/clutch plates out , the first obstacle is this, a nice round 60mm diameter nut.
Once a suitable tool can be found , apparently very common in Italy, but not so in the UK .
The front frame mount doubles up as a nice 3rd hand for the clutch basket holding tool.
After a good lever with a long bar and a few shift kicks of frustration of the vdue tyre the nut finally lets go and with renewed enthusiasm its the 15-20 m6 bolts removed to get the engine cover off. A bit of ' operation' with the cover to get it passed the frame etc , and a swift removal of the idler gear , we are there !! (top gear on right).
Whip the sprag housing off , removing the 4 m4 crappy csk bolts and thats it , bearing revealed !!
And only if it was that easy. |

Hi Stu
Be aware of air locks when you start up again. |

Bleed the oil is easy.
Getting rid of cooling air lock if you get one is difficult.
The water temp might not show as high but the header tank gets a bit steamy. |

I did buy one of those little one's that attach to the clutch cover fixing bolts, but guess what ???? Bimota decide not only to use a different bolt arrangement for the clutch basket but also use a different bolt pattern to Ducati for clutch cover so it does not fit. !!!!!!
I'm with 2bim's, the spanner type tool must weigh about 6-8kg. |

Just found out (thank god!) that the clutch holding tool is common to Benelli Tornado as well...... |
