I have been riding year round for 46 years. In that time I have never driven a car to work, just motorcycles. Here in Oregon we rarely have snow, and it usually doesn't last more than a few days, although in the past it has lasted more than a week and was combined with freezing rain.
I always rode to work through whatever conditions presented themselves. Now I am retired but still ride most every day. Until now. This Bimota is the first bike that I am not going to ride in the snow.
I must be getting soft.................... _________________ Spike C.

I rode all year when I was 20-22. I rode a VT250 in the snow once, thats snow over the road rather than around. I fell off 3 times on ice _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

With all that snow you MIGHT have been able to lock the front wheel -
Brakes were certainly not the strong point of my H2 - although to be fair I only had the single front disk! _________________ Now - SB6R, GSX1400, KTM 990 SuperDuke

It was like that when I got here |

as you imagine I never use the front brake on such weather just the rear one and the gearbox.
And mine is a twin brembo disc half flotting 300 minimeters with brembo calipers and master cylinder, stainless hose so I outperform actual super sport on braking (brembo kit for H1 H2 Z1, the whole kit included master cylinder and so on is a little lighter than a whole front single brake H2 from mother Kawa) |

Hi
I bought my Bimota in winter and rode it home. As it was late we went from London to my mothers, and then back to Stafford the next day.
Leaving London it started to snow on my first decent journey on the Bimota. Fortunately only lightly.
All the best

Keith has reminded me of the time in 1970 when I spent part of my first check from the Veterans Administration after getting back from Viet Nam. I bought a CB750 in January and drove it home over the west hills of Portland on a very twisty road in the snow. It was my first big bike and I was not dressed very well for the occasion! Boy was that ever an exhilarating ride! _________________ Spike C.

Hi Rod. All good up here. It's been very hot and very dry for a long time. Just in the last day or so we've started getting a bit of rain as there's a cyclone forming off the coast.
Is the shorai battery lithium ion? I'm looking at using a lithium battery in my track bike once built. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Thanks Rod. Do you have any contact details on Chris? Does he have a business or website? I googled lite industries but only came up with an alluminium business in Victoria. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |
