hello Evilchicken,
Got the carbs off, no difference in the compression readings, so it looks like engine out is a must now, while its out at least i can get into the crevices and get it nice and clean, I might even but some new hoses and replace all of them, I really hope its no worse than rings or Headgasket as i didnt really want to spend a fortune on her but if it is so be it...thanks again Tommo |

Hello Vince, Ive thrown a cover over the old girl for the time being, Im undecided exactly what to do, I might rebuild it and run it for a couple of hundred miles to see if it frees things off, If not then completely take it to bits, Ive been busy just lately with the other bikes, I pick a new zx10r tomorrow trading my cbr1000rr fireblade in for it as that was a rubbish bike, Bad gearbox and burning oil real bad, Not bad aye for a 2012 bike with only 560 miles on the clock, Never buy a fireblade mate they are made from scrap...kindest regards Tommo |

Okay no fireblade than…
It’s no Bimota but I can only speak for my self ….. I like zx10r pics also.
That’s what I should do, ride the Bim for a while. (Stop when it’s getting worse)
Probable you will find more “things” on your sb6.
Than you can fix it at once.
I think most sb6 riders start that way… _________________ vince

All very well saying ride it but if it's the rings it could soure the bores. That could be the difference between honing and a rebore. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Of course .... but I'd say if you're going to the trouble of changing the oil it's better to do a big bore while you're at it. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

You know it makes sense
You need to ride it now so you'll be able to compare the performance when you do finally big bore it ... _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)
