This request may have been posted earlier by an interested party...
I have a 1997 YB11 with 3,500 miles. During a recent inspection it was discovered that the right side fork slider has a crack where it clamps the axle. Well, that's a problem. So, I am looking for a slider or a set of appropriate forks. Further, if anyone has a safe repair option, I would like to hear about it. Several locals have suggested that 1) just ride it as it won't break, 2) have it welded (Tig, Heli-Arc?), 3) find some other forks and modify them to work, 4) sell it and hope the buyer doesn't see it. All are unacceptable to me.
Help!

If you know anybody in the are industry they can glue it. Areo adhesives are super strong and can also be very thin to penetrate tight tolerances.
I'd be fine with it being welded _________________ Don't read everything you believe |
