|
|
Im wanting to know how the left side belly pan mounts right behind the side stand on the left side of the bike.
Just behind the side stand this Santa Monica has a 6mm hole in the carbon fiber belly pan, but this hole is empty and I cannot see any bracket for this to fasten to.
Does anyone have some pictures of how this section of the belly pan is secured? Im pretty sure that this bike is missing a bracket and possibly a 6mm fastener of some type.
Unfortunately I do not have another Santa Monica to reference, and this is the first Santa Monica that Ive worked on. Ive done some internet picture/image searches and from what I can see it looks like this open hole should have a fastener in it. In every photo that shows this part of the bike this hole is occupied with a fastener.
Any help is welcomed
Thanks

Yep , fixing should be in there, but off the top of my head can't remember if Dzus or just mushroom head. Will try to remember to take a picture next time I am in the garage. Do you have the fixing at the front of the bellypan attaching to the cooler ? |

Thank you for the pictures.
What Im missing is the fastener "A" in the picture. I dont have the fastener, and Ill check but I think Im also missing the bracket or associated piece(s) that this fastener secures to ( is there a small bracket under the belly pan at that location?).

Hi Doug
Good job I guessed at the right one then
Not the best picture, but all I could do without removing belly pan. Will try to get others but will be the weekend before I can get to garage. |

Now that I have your picture as a reference, Ill take another look at the bike. Maybe all I need to do is either order the brace and fastener or maybe just make one myself. Im changing out all of the hardware with titanium, so this should be fairly easy to do.
From looking at your picture again, it looks like the black colored bracket is basically a simple strap bent to match the shape of the carbon fiber belly pan, and also shaped to hold up the belly pan to match the other side of the bike.
Thanks again
Doug
