I am having trouble registering my BB1 that I recently imported from Holland . I don't have the original log book so the DVLA want written proof of the date of manufacture from either Bimota or an owners club. I have written to Bimota a couple of times but got no reply. Have they gone bust again ? Anyone got any ideas who I can contact that the DVLA will accept as an authority. My bike is #196 so pretty sure it's 1996 model .
It's driving me mad having it sitting there gathering dust. Please can anyone help or advise me .
Thanks
Bob. |

Is it not possible to get the old reg doc from Holland ?
I registered a 97 vdue and was told the same thing, letter from Bimota ( who are still in business but will never answer an email) or a letter from someone in the know. I got the person who bought all of the vdues from the liquidator to do mine, but no good for a BB1. Best bet might be Glen Wilson of the old enthusiasts club, but he refused to do mine for the vdue. |

Hi Vort,
I'm on the case with the old doc but do not hold out much hope. I have however had some success contacting Bimota via Ian at EP Barras the UK Bimota importers. He has contacted his man in Rimini and they did get my letters so a pukka reply is apparently on the way. Nice one Ian -- thanks.
I will not be defeated by the DVLA !

Save your letter from Rimini - it will be rarer than the bike!! Not many of us on here with BB1's I've a biposto but imported in 02 so has an 02 plate

Make sure you have your fillings checked or it will vibrate them out |

Hi
I would suggest asking North Leicester Motorcycles for a dating certificate. They should be able to sort one out for you
All the best

as what Keith says - I contacted North Leicester Motorcycles yesterday and spoke to Barbara, emailed her the details she requested and made a payment of £24 and received the dating certificate in this mornings post!
Cant fault that kind of customer service! _________________ Bimota SB6 and Benelli TNT 899S road bikes.
