Fortunately my cave doesn't suffer from damp but I bolted the engine in a bit quick just in case

Cooling system jigsaw was so much easier to sort without that bloody great, pointless web in the way.......

...can't do much more with it up on my desk, time for a hernia and lift it down onto the bike bench

another view of the cooling system, the thermostat is no longer wedged (literally) between the engine and the frame

...Got to get a move on, the new, new wheels should be here tomorrow _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

Now recovered from moving these engines about

Project is now where it belongs on the bike bench

Check and grease the swing arm bearings.....

...needed a bit of a clean and re-grease is all, quite surprising under the circumstances.

...had to make a couple of those little, skinny conical washers for the Ohlins shock but the linkages only needed a clean and grease too....

...swinger on and all's good with the world.....let's see who will mess that up today _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

				Well how rude is that.......

Right in the middle of servicing the forks, you know, the part that needs 3 hands, the UPS man disturbs me claiming he's got a delivery for my project.........you know what's coming next dontcha ......

....I think the front wheel in particular has positive bouncy or negative weight which ever is most descriptive

...well one thing's for sure...I've got too many sets of dymags _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

....Thought I'd have a closer look at these puppy's whilst I was putting my tools away.....

Spent a fortune on these and they havn't even got the lightest Talon sprocket and that's held on with crap cadium plated, steel nuts and washers.

Soon swaped the sprocket with the 7 spokes and whacked it on with Ti nuts .....

...then I noticed the cheap, Taiwanese bearings

I did expect more for this sort of money......

Well I'm not changing those for a while....

....Forks serviced and back in the bike and I couldn't resist trying the wheels...

...starting to look like a bike already....wonder at what stage this project will stall

lorry battery

I was actually going for a new generation, lightweight battery and a very gentle throttle hand

Hoping a bit of restraint is the key _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

Some great weight saving there Oily but, much as probably it pains you, I still think you will need to fit some heavy tyres _________________ Now - SB6R, GSX1400, KTM 990 SuperDuke

Looks very low profile - may need to adjust the speedo _________________ Now - SB6R, GSX1400, KTM 990 SuperDuke

You'll probably need to adjust the suspension to compensate for the lighter wheels _________________ Don't read everything you believe |
