Sorry, I have been registered on the forum for a little while but have only just got around to making my first post.
I bought my YB4 back in August 1992 when she had just over 6,000 km on the clock and in the last 20 years I have only covered another 11,500 km, she has been through 18 MOT’s while I have owned her and is in the garage at the moment for her 19th (Fingers crossed).
During the time I have owned her with the exception of 1999 when I was abroad she has been taxed/Mot’d and ridden (albeit very sparingly) each year.
She is listed in Giorgio Sarti’ “Bible” from the time when I was living in Spain.
She was sold new by TVM Motorcycle Centre in Kingsteignton, Devon and was first registered in January 1990, the first owner paid the very scary sum of £16,541.76 for her in 1990!
She is original except for the rear hugger which the first owner painted red and the bar ends which should just be black rubber.
Practical Sportsbikes borrowed her for their current (September – No 23) Issue, I would upload a copy of the article or even a photo if I could, but I cannot work out how to at the moment!

Welcome to the Forum matey, and be sure to stick around, if you need assistance in loading piccies just give a shout, theres a few tutorials on here already as its a common issue.
Read your Practical Sportsbike issue, don't normally buy it, but got into the habit as my DB2 was in the previous months issue
Rucksack (as he is on here) is a nice fella, did Weeble do the photos or was it a collect in a van and the bike dissappeared?
Hope your master cylinder rear brake is now sorted, had the same issue with my DB4 but no flames fortunately, just ceased up the rear caliper but stopped in time before the fluids boiled and seals blew.... |

They sent the van which was an odd feeling as she was driven away.
My garage has managed to get hold of a seal repair kit via KTM for the Brembo Caliper but the rear disk is knackered and I am going to have to get one made. Typical as I have a new YB4R rear disk but the fitment is different. _________________ YB4, Z1000 |

Well welcome to the Forum, and this is just the place for such things. I buy new calipers or master cylinders. The black brembo one is brand New old stock at Demon Tweaks for 40squid, buy from their ebay store as its cheaper with free postage, can you believe, such is the power of ebay.
Whats the measurement for the disc? I do have one brand new one left that fits Oscom wheels, same as my Db2 1994 model, is it the same as that?
Is it the same as this link?
http://www.bimotaforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1678&start=75
230mm dia six hole fixing with recessed fixings?
We are getting some more from Italy some time soon.
Also have a stockist I use for New Brembo rear calipers, usually around 40squid a piece, easier and normally cheaper than seal kits |

yes, as far as I can see the YB4 disc is interchangeable with the DB2 type so long as you have the alloy center piece too.
I once sold a 2 piece one to a chap to replace his one piece and he was happy : )
but I think the one piece is thinner.
I also seem to remember it was also used on some 80s Cagiva trail bike, RX, SX 125 or something or other . . .
Graf has a used original YB4 one for 90 euro

you're right 189,,90 euro ! !
I mistook it for 90 euro
another try- DRT Schneider:
http://bimota-teile.de/Bimota/index.html
120 euro this time, new, but is it the 1 or 2 piece (outer) ?
according to my Bellaria and DB2 parts lists- 2 piece complete !
Furano parts list- 2 piece outer only (more believable?)
Phil
have you got other YB4 spares available?
all the best

Thanks for the advice I had looked at a Cagiva Planet 125 disk but the carrier is different and it doesn't fit. Please see attached photo and let me know what you think.
Cheers

hi Phil
no the Planet is much too new.
The Cagivas I meant are much older and rarer (at least in the UK).
It will be much easier to get a Bimota part.

Don't feel too bad about it Phil. most people have trouble posting pictures.
I find the easy way is to upload them to a free hosting site such as photobucket and link to them _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

Yeh photobucket works fine, upoad your photos to a free membership account, then start a post on the Forum, whilst your Photobucket account/album is open, click to this window, hover the mouse over a chosen photo and a dropdown menu pops up at the bottom, follow mouse arrow to the bottom link and left click once on it and it will say "copied" then click back to the window with the open post on left click it in and right click paste and the link will be copied in and the picture will appear |
