Well its that time of year again and I received the renewal quote from the above that was for my DB2, DB4 and Kwack ZRX1100, at a miserly 350 for the year, Unlimited mileage, EU cover, recovery and legal cover 50squid excess per bike, and 2 named riders.
Had to remind them that they classify Bimotas as classics at 10 years old and not the usual 15, so I added my Ducati 750SSie and Ducati 1991 900SS also, and total price 370squid. Job done for another year and yet another big thumbs up for Footman James |

Good reminder. I have all my bikes sorn at the moment so will be giving them a call next month when / if I get back. I may have to stay out on the road for another 2 months though... double bugger.. _________________ Pomps

did mine through www.peterjamesinsurance.co.uk - the 'James' previously of Footman & James
Superlight, KR1-S, 999s and RSVR , 15k of cover for £323. FJ wanted about £450.
Quote was fully comp, unlimited mileage, full European breakdown and LP. The excess on the classics (Superlight & KR1-S) is £100 I think and the 'moderns' are £250 each. Brilliant price and excellent service. When I add the YB11 and NC30 later it'll be about £370 all in for £22k of cover, which I think is a good deal _________________ 03 YB11, 03 Aprilia RSVR Edwards, 94 Ducati Superlight III, 95 Honda NC30, 04 Ducati 999S, 91 kawasaki KR1-S C2, 91 Ducati 851 USD Strada, 89 ZXR750H1, 90 ZXR400H1, 205 16v Rally Car, A6 2.7TDI Avant, STM R1 engined Phoenix |

Ok, just off the phone with Footman James And no amount of persuasion will convince them that they classify bimota's as classic at 10 years. It doesn't matter who I speak too, they all insist it has to be 15 years. Anyone any idea's how to convince them? |

Yes Bimototo, that is one price to cover all the bikes.
For the others, ask FJ to speak to their Admin Dept as I had the same issue with them, and after he did this he came back and said"yeh mate, you know more about this than I do" after all its just a bloke on a phone (and probably just a lad) when I added the DB4, he googled it to see one and sure enough, "wow thats nice, never seen one of them, where do you buy them from?" Didn't evidently know they hadn't been made for 10 years |

now I tell you how much I pay for my db4 and how much for zx9-r
DB4 normal insurance (with office and real people) 1year, 5mln euro maximum coverage, legal assistance, only one driver, and I dont'n know how to tell in english, if something happen (hope not ) and I'm in wrong, they don't want the money back. so 275€
ZX9-R phone insurance all the same to the other 350€
I'm very sad

Its called 3rd party insurance cover, where they cover you for damage to others done by you, but not for your own bike. FJ and others give you fully comprehensive which is same but covers damage to your own bike also, and fire and theft. But here we call the insurance "Classics" and you can have "multi" with the odd modern bike on also |

no, is not that,
I mean, the insurance in the normal resposability (I don't take an euro if is my fault) this options mean I make an accident, and I'm drunk (for example) they paid for the other than they bring me in front of a judge for have the money bak, with tis options they can't is called: waiver of recourse (google translator)
for have all the other options fire theaft is a mess..... _________________

Oh Wow, not heard of that Disclaimer before? Does that mean if you are exceeding the speed limit and crash they don't insure and come back to you for money for damaging a tree???? |
