You could eat your dinner off it, although a curry would probably be tricky _________________ Now - SB6R, GSX1400, KTM 990 SuperDuke

Just got lucky and last week I became a proud owner of beautiful 2006 Bimota SB8K Santamonica.
As you all know and I am sure can agree with me its a gorgeous bike.
Took it on a 160 mile ride today and all I can say it amazing bike. Accelaration is awesome, bike is super light and just a delight. Suspension feels great taught enough but at the same time supple enough that my teeth are not falling out on the bumps. It actually feels even lighter and smaller then my BMW HP2 Sport. In any case I love it

Just to get this in the right place....at the end of the thread and not a week back
That's a very nice thing you have there
You must try and find some roads with a few bends

Hello there! I just wanted to show my Mantra, bought NEW!!! last autumn. During winter I had it completely serviced since it stayed still for 13 years. Changed all rubber and gaskets. Since I was on it, I tuned it a little with some Rizoma parts, put Brembo golden top notch axial brake pumps, better looking mirrors and so on to make it more contemporary. Also my version is the last produced second gen in red (28 produced of which 25 for the market + 3 were for the Bimota archive, tests and museum) - but I like more the first gen so I replaced the different parts with those of the first gen... Kept all original parts of course...!
Nobody believes me when I tell them that it is a 1998 motorcycle!

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Mantra (gen1) owner. Very nice bike you have there, but I am surprised that you changed the seat and rear mudguard for a gen1 unit - my gen 1 mudguard / taillamp unit shakes itself to bits and is constantly cracking through stress fractures.
Wooden top yoke cover - now theres a thought - fire up the milling machine, Oily, faux walnut on it's way!!! _________________ Bimota SB6 and Benelli TNT 899S road bikes.

Ha ha, well, the seat is unchanged, but for now I don't see any problems with the rear mudguard. The tail lamp is a LED version now and works perfect.
The wood (not walnut anymore - I changed to a nicer looking wood pattern) cover is indeed a nice treat especially if it is coordinated with the one of the dash. But I think that if you have the original yoke, you should keep it as it is perfect in its own way. |

| Hey GeeKay, one more thing, are the underwritten all your current bikes or the ones you owned? 'cause besides my Mantra I'm thinking of having an SB8R too, for those bloodthirsty days, you know... Is the bike any good? I mean, is it the usual top notch Bimota rocket or has it its downfalls too? The Suzi motor is a very reputable piece of machinery... |

they are the bikes that I currently own, although I am trying (none too hard at the moment) to sell the SB8R. It is a very capable bike. Could deliver it to the Adria Hotel in Ankaran for a reasonable fee.......... _________________ Bimota SB6 and Benelli TNT 899S road bikes.

That does look noce uros, and I'm not a big Mantra fan, but I have to ask, what Camera are you using? Megapixel size wise etc, as I have to say those are the most detailed, sharpest best photos I've seen posted on the Forum. And if you tell me your a professional Photographer, well best not tell me the camera as I wouldn't be buying one |

Ha ha, thanks man:)! No no, I'm far from a pro, I just have a feeling for making photos. And the posted ones are compressed (Postimage doesn't accept larger photos), so they are far from detailed!! If these are detailed, then wait to see the full resolution ones (16 million pixels)...
I have a compact everyday shooter camera, the last years best compact camera Sony HX9V with fullHD video shooting. This camera has a special auto mode that really sets it apart from others and this mode makes these almost perfect images in every condition. It detects the surrounding conditions and if needed, when you press the button, it takes several pictures at once and then it combines them into one great picture. With today's compacts you don't have to be a pro for shooting great pictures anymore. And the video is just fantastic! Oh, and it doesn't cost a fortune too.
I posted a cool video of a concert here, just choose the best resolution:
