As another angle of the "tricolour" scheme and where it came from

http://raresportbikesforsale.com/1995-bimota-db2-tricolor-almost-mint-with-2145-miles/

"tricolore that I have seen for sale – it’s that rare (there are only 34 these tricolores in the WORLD since they were only sold in the US)."

Maybe this only applies to the DB, but !!!!

Also check out

Maybe this only applies to the DB, but !!!!

Yes the DB2 trics were also sold in other countries.
Mine is from the UK and I've seen original bikes in Germany. I also have a Japanese magazine with an advert for them new.

The reason they are so rare is- they came out as a side line when the DB2SR was launched at the previous DB2 carb price, in Germany anyway. Of course 'everybody' wanted the new thing so the 'carry over' carb bike (left over parts? some with 'old' red frame/white wheels some with 'SR' gun metallic frame and wheels) with the same graphics but in another colour (a much nicer colour IMO) was rarely sold.

And the idea about the trickys being painted in the US- no idea/difficult to believe- mine is definitely Bimota factory quality- whether that be good or bad Wink

Without the tricolour painting I probably wouldn't have bought a DB2- the colours just make it perfect for me.

might even ride it one of these days- got the battery charged up and ready, then the weather has turned again, bugger Confused
