Hi All,

Just purchase a YB11 and need to know what needs to be serviced. The bike has 2800km and has only been around the block and had its brake fluid and coolant changed.

What needs to be done to keep it fresh. I will not ride it but for the trip around a longer block than before?

Peter

A few basics...New battery and new tyres....But I would also replace the fuel lines...they will be 24 years old and have probably gone rock hard.....when fresh fuel is run through them...it will go soft but probably leak as the lines soak up the fuel.....Engine oil and filter should be OK....I would treat it to 4 new spark plugs though

The carbs will most likely need to be stripped and cleaned. Even if the bowls were drained when it was parked up, the fuel left in the galleries turns to sludge. An ultrasonic cleaner is the best way to clean them

Best to change the clutch fluid and air filter as well. If it has a foam filter it will disintegrate when you touch it.
