Hi. Anybody for a “fix” for the clutch on an sb6. My slave cylinder seems to move more than the ckutch pmates itself. So clutch drags a nit. Many thanks. Bob

Do you have a sleeved slave cylinder, or has it been replaced with a GSXR11 slave, which is not sleeved and not compatible with Bimota’s master cylinder?

The sprocket cover that holds the slave cylinder is cut to fit with the frame rail. The problem is the cut is at 90° and over time this fatigues and breaks, if you can have a look at the top of the cover before you drop the engine and buy a secondhand replacement.
You have to drop the engine or at least lift the frame off it because the bolt near the back is long and cant be take out without hitting the frame. Once you have the sprocket cover off turn it over and use the strengthening webs as a guide for cutting the replacement but crucially radius the 90° cut. I kept the lower part (where the gear numbers are) down to the bottom bolt which isnt used by Bimota, if you do this you need to take an amount off the mating face because the side stand bracket has a locating tab on this bolt hole.

Fitting it all back up isnt difficult but youd be advised to use a new hose the old one is around 25 years old.
As a precaution change the clutch plates - if you do this you need a big socket for a nut in the middle ... have a look at a Suzuki GSXR1100W manual.
You might want to change the front sprocket and maybe chain and rear too.

Many thanks for the info. I’ll get the parts ordered tomorrow. Pretty sure the clutch is needing replacement. Pull in the clutch when in gear the wheel keeps turning. Then apply brake when in gear and clutch out and wheel stops but engine stills goes. I can already see the slave cover rocking when i pull in the clutch. So hopefully be ready for spring time. Thanks again. Bob
