Hi Folks,

one simple question. Can I replace the engine U712 with an U709 (GU75C)? The original engine broke and needs to be replaced.

Thanks in advance

Nicholas

Can't recall the differing engine codes (and presumably neither can anyone else) so what exactly is the new engine your trying to fit??

Thank you!
It is a Suzuki GSX-R1100W yom 1995, GU75C with a serial number starting with U709. U712 seems to be the serial number for engines fitted into the SB6 originally.
I am not a Bimota expert but I have got that bike on the bench for engine replacement.

Yes, it looks like it can. See the bottom of this post:

In that case the water cooled 1100 engines are all basically the same....

I have found a lot of spare engines but only one(!) so far having the extra mount points which seem to be mandatory on that model.
Anyway, thanks for pointing in the right direction.
If anyone can provide a suitable engine please do not hesitate to contact me Wink
Cheers
Nicholas
