Feeling really guilty about my lack of recent of postings here. Covid lethargy I think but thats no excuse. I've also been recommissioning a standard '93 DB2 I imported from Japan which has been a bit of a diversion. After purchasing it my head was turned by the HF DB2 I'rescued from our friends at Centrepoint [which is the main focus of this rest thread] Mission creep on that has led to EXTRA time required and EXTRA ££££.... whats new eh!!

Anyway re the 'Standard' DB2 I hope to finish that this Spring and I'll post it up here on the forum and the FB page once its all up running. Not seen many DB2s for sale here or Continent recently?

ANYWAY re the resto HF......a couple of parts on my bike needed replacing and after looking at various sources I turned back to the outfit who machined up the seat retaining screws for me.

I got the guys to make up the threaded steering stem 'cap' that like many others I've noted has cracked where it is clamped.

It comes with an 'as machined' finish whereas the original looks like it was vapour blasted. Other than that seems to be a faithful replica.

They also manufactured a set of eccentric adjusters. Very happy with these. They dont have the patent bimota stamp on them but I've seen originals without as well so not too worried about that.

I did have a set that I gave a very light polish and vapour blast to and Cerakoted silver. They are very clean but unfortunately the surface needed for most cerakotes is just a little 'rough' . [They now have a Clear Cerakote specifically for coating machined/polished metal but not viable for just my one off]

Just for reference here are 'used' and Cerakoted eccentrics next to each other.

Due to a mis-communication (in a two man operation!) they doubled up my order and the 'extras' are sat on a shelf at their workshop. So if any anyone wants a set of eccentrics I can get them for £90 the pair. The steering stem top cap is also £45. (plus P&P at cost to you once I pick them up)

Yup....nice work and nice to see some progress.....albeit a pedestrian rate....but then I do have high standards of whip em in and whip em out....with the added bonus...sometimes...that no one is asking what I'm doing or how much its costing....
