Sorry if i am annoying anyone with me constant posts.
I’m getting to the stage where I think that I’ll never get to ride this bike, seems that it’s one problem after another.
This time I decided to give it a good look over to check it would go through the MOT with no issues, forks seem to have too much play so I took the top yoke off and found a split nut , any ideas where to get one or if there is another bike with the same threads l.

Hi mate, new threads on the forum are always welcome and there’s always info shared that benefits many members, not just the OP.
Many of the early Bimotas used the same threaded collar. Centrepoint wholesale in Australia has a few of them for sale on eBay. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Hi
I hate to be a pain but I have tried searching the site you suggested but I don’t seem to be able to find it. Would you be so kind as to put a link up if possible please. _________________ Bimota YB9, RD500,Z1 1974,Z1 1975, Benelli 750sei, 900sei, GPZ 750 turbo, Rudge super sport, S.O.S, BSA Rkt 3 1969, 1966 Bonnie, Egli Vincent 1954,Guzzi 850T, Commando fastback, Commando Interstate, Enfield Interceptor 69, 72 H2, 69 H1, Suzy Gt750 J |

Hmm, I can’t find the ones that were on eBay from Centrepoint.

Thank you for the offer, very much appreciated however I have ordered one from Rudolf in Germany, a bit steep at €93 inc shipping + import duties but needs must.
Thanks to everyone for all the help and advice, one day it will get on the road. _________________ Bimota YB9, RD500,Z1 1974,Z1 1975, Benelli 750sei, 900sei, GPZ 750 turbo, Rudge super sport, S.O.S, BSA Rkt 3 1969, 1966 Bonnie, Egli Vincent 1954,Guzzi 850T, Commando fastback, Commando Interstate, Enfield Interceptor 69, 72 H2, 69 H1, Suzy Gt750 J |

AAAgh. Have you definitely ordered? If not........I just posted this evening in DB section. I had the very same issue with my DB2 and got a part made up locally. Don’t know if its the same dimensions but I think YB9 had same 41mm forks as DB2 so probably? _________________ Not as many bikes as I would like and already too many to keep up with! |

Ya muppet Ralf.....what are you doing with your time? Retired...Corona Lockdown...We should be seeing a fleet of pristine Bimotas rolling out of your garage by now.....And...Poor Paolo of Bimota Classic Parts has now lost some revenue....if he bothered to venture onto here and look after us all...he could have jumped in before me and Brian and posted up and helped out...HeyHo...he must be a busy man.... |

Oh....and maybe not....Fork tube sizes are irrelevant for the central steering stem....maybe it would fit...maybe it wouldnt....DB2 frame is CrMo round tubing...YB9 is alloy perimeter beam and headstock.... |

The saga continues, the new ( expensive ) part I bought is incorrect on the outer diameter, too small to go over the frame and clamps on the frame. I could fit washers onto the head bearing but that would allow dirt into the bearing ???? _________________ Bimota YB9, RD500,Z1 1974,Z1 1975, Benelli 750sei, 900sei, GPZ 750 turbo, Rudge super sport, S.O.S, BSA Rkt 3 1969, 1966 Bonnie, Egli Vincent 1954,Guzzi 850T, Commando fastback, Commando Interstate, Enfield Interceptor 69, 72 H2, 69 H1, Suzy Gt750 J |

I’ll check my stash and see what I have there.
Post the dimensions of your broken nut and I’ll see if I can help you out _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |
