What do you do if you are a total petrol head and have just sold your business for $$$$$$
Obviously you build yourself your own PRIVATE racing circuit and museum/warehouse. Yes a bi-directional 40' wide ( 13m) 1.1mi ( 1.8km) 9-turn super-grippy asphalt circuit with 80 feet of elevation change and nine turns. also loads of off road space on the 275 acre site in New York State.
No doubt cost a bit but heh....(Alan Wilzig was formerly CEO, president and chairman of the Trust Company of New Jersey, which was sold to North Fork Bank for $750 million in 2003 (and with that background probably invested his wedge wisley?)
Its smaller than the Barber Motorsports circuit in N.Carolina but it is entirely private. Alan has put together an amazing slection of bikes and cars which includes (according to the article) 24 Bimotas.
Can't say I've heard of this before. I wonder if he is on the forum (incognito like)? _________________ Not as many bikes as I would like and already too many to keep up with! |

Cool! Nice to see all those great bikes in a collection, but kind of a shame they are probably never used as intended.
Talking of private tracks, a guy who was the CEO of CocaCola Amatil built his own race track near Sydney many years ago. 5.2km long making it the longest track in Australia at the time. I had the pleasure of riding on it a few times. It was truly awesome.

Alan is a really nice guy and a total petrol head.
I bought his KTM 990 Superduke as it was proving impossible to send it over to the states to add to his collection. _________________ Now - SB6R, GSX1400, KTM 990 SuperDuke
Then - H2A Trip, GSX1000R , EXC400, TZ250, R1, TL1000S, 1100 Kat, RG500, RD500, GPZ 900R GPZ1100 UniT, GSX1100, Z650
It was like that when I got here |
