Little by little I have been buying the pieces and doing the paint work.....
In a few days it will roll again on the road and the circuits
It has been almost three years of waiting |

Its always a horrible feeling when that happens. My first thoughts when I came to rest after being knocked off my DB5R was to check the damage to the bike and would I be able to find the parts.
Your incident seems to have been quite a high speed crash to wear through your leathers !!??!! But dare I say it the DB4 appears to have come off quite lightly ?? Other than levers/pegs and paint road rash.
Did the seat unit break its mounts ?
Certainly looks LOVELY now , once again !!
They are great little bikes .
Hope you repaired as well as the DB? |

Yes, I'm waiting for the last piece that I bought in Italy to finish it all off
When I'm on the go I'll look for lighter tires, but later |

It was a clean fall ..., I just dragged down the road, the bike little damage and I none
the repair has been simple, the most difficult thing to find the original spare part at reasonable prices
Meanwhile, this time I have used another "similar mount".....

It's difficult enough to find parts for the DB4 at all, let alone at a reasonable price _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Did the seller come through ok to post to Spain?...He has some bits I'd like also.....its good if he will "shift" on his only selling to Italy... |

Took advantage of the "shutdown" and beautiful weather to roll out the Db4 and give her some loving......started up fine after a deep charge on the battery.....Bike hadn't been prepared or started prior to last year...as she wasn't going to the Show at the end of March...the Show that like all others...didn't Show......So I pulled her out with the intention of a quick wipe down and air in tyres....check electrics.....etc ready for her yearly MOT this year....which is Friday....And...well...it went deeper as it always does...Vented open clutch and pack was in a shocking state....so that all got pulled apart and cleaned...rusty springs etc...I felt so ashamed....
So thought it best to whip the lot out and give her a clutch pack service
Choice of fresh clutch springs to use....
cleaned up bolts...top hats...pressure plate and vented billet clutch cover...drying in the midday sun
So much happier now
So...the rest of the bike got a look after and clean and lube and check....
New rubber blanking plugs for swingarm linkages to engine and bottom shock mount
bodywork of tank/seat unit has been raised up some 5-10mm on my DB4 to cut down on cracking at the frame points and rubbing on the frame rails
New Simpsons lid turned up yesterday also....freshly stickered up.....
Quick trip out for some essential shopping.....was going to try the lid...but thought the black tint may attract unwanted attention....

Nice to see the DB4 TLC. Rust?? Must be sabotage i reckon. KDX looks perky in the sunshine too. _________________ Not as many bikes as I would like and already too many to keep up with! |

I was surprised when I took the KDX for its MOT last week...some 1100 miles since the last one a year ago....Yikes...and I only use her for commuting....DB4 a lowly 600 miles since last year.....not checked any of the others yet but basically I ran 8 bikes the last 12 months.....
Cleaned up the chain and sprockets and rest of the bike also now...and found some old genuine nickel passivated gold bimota bolts....so have been changing those out on the DB4 in certain visible areas...mudguards etc.... |

I even got round to fixing the little plastic caps and bases in orange to cover the 4mm screws holding the number plate on...that jobs been on my list for around 8 years......slowly slowly catchey monkey
In another 8 years I'll do the other screw on the right hand side
Right...all done.....now for a quick sp.....oh no....cant do that...not taxed....MOT day on Friday so a quick run around the long way home on the way back |
