|
|
Hi All, thanks for the join.
Ive just been to view a SB6R (19K km's - 5K9 Euros)
What are the ignition codes ? On ignition ( not start..) it had "WAT 13" I believe..
Is this an error code? I was expecting it to say "BAT..." or something since its in a showroom.
Any ideas of the startup codes meaning ? It was a 2002 model.
Anything I should be wary of if I was to buy it ?. The only fault I could see was a hairline crack ( screw overtighten) of the RHS fairing mid way up - about 1/2 cm from screw. |

I *think* that's the low water temp display for those clocks isn't it? They're not smart enough to show anything meaningful in terms of errors. |

If you press the black button on the triple it should cycle through other monitored points like the odo and total mileage |

Thanks for that.
Im thinking of having a dabble in the Bimota world. Currently primarily a BMW rider. Looking at something with a bit more passion- There is a SB6R close and within budget. I was just wondering is there something I should watch out for particularly ? |

It’s worth making sure it’s charging, as the coupler between the alternator and the starter clutch can get damaged if somebody’s attempted to start it with a weak battery. It’s not expensive in parts to fix, but quite a lot of labour, if you give it to a shop to fix.
If it feels very rich low down, that can be fixed by ditching the vacuum fuel pump, provided nobody’s been in there making ‘adjustments’ to the carbs, to try and address fuel-pump-related issues.
They can be made into a great bike with the investment of some time & money, but they’re handicapped off the shelf by heavy wheels and end cans. _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

Two things to be aware of
See if the chain is new or old - the front sprocket is difficult to change
Be careful not to get the "bug" you might want a bigger garage _________________ Don't read everything you believe |
