hi there,
my name is ludwig from germany. i bought my db back in 2000 new. i changed it to an underseat exhaust and a ducati half fairing.
i cant post images, because i dont have a webpage. i could send an email to someone, who can post the photo for me on a webpage.
at the moment i adapt marchesini ktm SMT R wheels.
it will get a lithium ionen CS battery
https://cs-batteries.de/Lithium-LiFePO4-Motorrad-Starter-Batterie-PRO-V2-mit-BMS-inside-12V-75Ah-450A-106-x-76-x-82mm-1160g
and a mosfet regulator
https://cs-batteries.de/Elektronischer-Mosfet-Spannungsregler-Gleichrichter-fuer-Drehstrom-Lichtmaschinen-und-LiFePo4-Batterien
finally i want to install a motogadget m-unit basic. i need a wiring diagramm for the db 4 i.e. the db 4 wiring icould find has no fuel injection, so it doesnt help.
anyone around, who has an idea. is it possible with the magneti marelli ecu?
merry christmas and a happy new year,
ludwig
p.s.: hello riny, you helped me out before and i did send you the chain adapter for your swingarm. hope you can fix your bike. |

Hi Ludwig, I’m interested to see the pics of your DB4ie with the under seat exhaust. What system did you use and was it much trouble to fit? Email me your photos to brianmeechan6@bigpond.com and I’ll post them in this thread _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

The bimota DB4ie used the 2001 Ducati Monster m900ie engine. Find the wiring diagram for the Ducati Monster. It is the same wiring diagram. _________________ 2002 Cannondale E440

hey brian and polysterpig,
thank you for the informations, that helps.
@ brian: i will send you some photos.
I used a BOS Silencer for a Yamaha 1000 and the tubes are made by http://www.schaefer-rennauspuffanlagen.de/Home
he made the 44mm tubes and the 2-1 piece, the adjusting pieces to the silencers is my work.
Further i tuned the engine a little bit with 944 cc, dual ingnition, the cylinder head and the ecu were optimized. in the end it is good for 88 PS at 7800 1/min and 86Nm at 6000 1/min.
The underseat silencer looks nice in my point of view, but it is also a disadvantage, when it comes to power and torque. The ducati engines harmonizes better with a 2-2 exhaust.
so maybe i will change it again or look for a 1100 ds engine |

Being a Db4 owner as well I was interested in what the exhaust looked like from the back... Its a shame that Ludwig didn't send us that photo.
On a different note Id love to know the name of the red colour that Bimota used on the Db4ie? maybe its the same as the YB11. |

If I was to be critical, and this is only my personal opinion.... the can is a fraction too long, or maybe the mid pipe. Although a shorter mid pipe would put the can under the riders arse. I do like it though, tidied up the bike nicely. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Hey brian, you are right. The can was to Long and it is still to thick. I shortened it, but the Pics are old. Now the can ends at the rear end of the seat.
I could fit a smaller can, but than volume is missing. Looks Good, but takes Performance. To bring the pipe higher would make a better look, but there is Not enough room for the electronics.
I will send Pics, when the bike is ready with new wheels. _________________ db4i.e. - Le Mans III - Gran Canyon - Desert X -Sportster |

Cool, I look forward to the pics!
I was worried about mentioning that I thought the can looks too long as sometimes people take offence to remarks about their pride and joy (me included!). _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |
