It's tricky the first few times. Once all of the bolts are out, lift the front, wiggle and pull it back a little. Then you have to tilt it to one side and lift over the pipes. I find putting one hand either side and prizing the sides open a little down near where the 4 countersunk fixing screws are also helps _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Also need to disconnect the wiring plug for the rear lights. L/H side inside the side of the seat unit _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

It's also possible to leave the mufflers bolted to the seat unit.... but it's a pain to get to the retaining springs on the pipes. It's also a pain to put back together this way. I prefer to unbolt the muffler support bracket from the seat unit and leave the mufflers on _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I go underneath the seat unit and remove the 2 bolts between the mufflers. the subframe stays attached to the seat unit. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |
