Firstly...welcome to the Forum and the World of Bimota Ownership.....And secondly....BEst of luck.....your task should not be underestimated....Did you not fancy an easier task? Like cycling to Mars??? Which YB8 is it? The Evo or the Exup??....Frame number would help

You can download and print off the exploded Spare PArts diagrams from this lovely mans website in GErmany...that help in putting bikes back together...and it has the parts numbers and pictures of the bits you'll need

http://www.bimota-parts.de/en/teileshop.html

If you put an enquiry to him for parts...even if he hasn't got them listed...he will assist where he can...He only speaks GErman so write in simple English and use a translate tool to convert to GErman for him

HEre is the YB8 Evo spare parts catalogue

http://www.bimota-parts.de/images/PDF/YB8%20Evo.pdf

You can also try this place:-Go to this fellow...again in GErmany...Armin Schneider is his name....click on "Ersatzteile"////3rd item on links on the left side...scroll down and he has list of bikes he has parts for.....then in the middle menu click on the 3 No. YB8's he has listed YB8 Exup, YB8E and YB8 IE...(Yup 3 different models for the YB8!!)...Armin lists the parts he has by part number...hence you will need the spare parts brochures....

http://bimota-teile.de/Bimota/index.html

And last but not least...but maybe "most expensive" theres Paulo Girotti in Itlay of Bimota Classic PArts.....Who reads and writes and speaks english...he also has the spare parts manuals but doesnt allow them to be downloaded or printed

Scroll to the very bottom of this link....he has the 3 different spare parts brochures to be viewed for each of the 3 No. YB8 models....He is best contacted via his Facebook contact for BimotaClassicParts....and also ask to be his "personal" friend under his Paolo Girotti Faebook page...as he replies to that 24/7....You will have to get used to "new technology" to revive "old technology......Find the parts you need and then post up a list also so that I and others can search more easily for you...Oh and photos...WE need photos..........

There are people offering aftermarket 8e fairings, but this will not fit onto an 8, unless you also fit an 8e headlight bracket.

8 front mudguards are readily available on the bay.

Petrol tank is most likely only going to come from a source such as those recommended by 2 Bims and will be expensive.

Bear in mind that the thermostat and associated plumbing is quite different on an 8 compared to an FZR 1000.

If we haven't talked you out of it - good luck! _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

With Paioli forks, you have a YB8E and therefore need the carbon mudguard that mounts on the caliper bolts. _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |
