Thank you Trev - so the dust cover is threaded on the inside then?
Got the rear shock from wrs.it and the forks from a user on triumph675.net |

It is the company that Weed provided a link for but their prices are better in their eBay listings.
Search for "ohlins bimota strada" ...

So I was having some issues finding a 20mm rear axle that was long enough for the SB8 swing arm.
Finally found that a Honda Firestorm axle should be 20mm diameter and the same length as the SB8 axle. That turned out to be almost correct:)
Of course the threading wasn't the same either.
So with some help from my contact that milled my yokes I had the left chain tensioner opened up a bit, and had a special hex-nut-tube-whatchamacallit made.
And so, now I can fit the Triumph Daytona 675 rear wheel in my frame.
Next up will be to see if Mr. Fiedler will take pity in my inabilities and assemble the pile of parts I have as it should complete a rolling chassis by now. Just waiting for travel restrictions to be lifted. |

Nice solution and a nice job done. I’d have a nice plug of some some put in the unused portion of the thread in the nut..... otherwise you’ll always have well meaning onlookers telling you that your axle is loose and your wheel is going to fall off.
Maybe a nice bespoke machined aluminium plug with the b symbol milled into it _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Yeah - now that you mention it I see your point. I may end up going the easy route and just remove the unused thread on a lathe. |
