The wheels are standard but have been painted, exhaust isn't standard and it's the only one of its type I've ever seen, very interesting, wonder what it sounds like. |

Hi there,
thanks for the flowers
The pipes are produced by SR-Racing, Germany. Sounds great and it's legal.
Ciao

Good picture....shows how the SB6 is far more "compact" then the DB thing.
Even with that proper engine
They both fit nicely in that trailer. Not room for a third then? _________________ SB6 mk1 (project mega light, big bore)

No, not much room to spare in the trailer. If there was room for a third there's a good chance it would be another db _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Sunny Days are back again, so clean out the garage time, must get larger driveway
Hhmmm....seems to be a gap there that I could fill......Perhaps this would do nicely...
Ah thats better
and another, whilst precariously balancing on the top rung of my step ladders.
Ah Well, enough prancing around, its time to strip the Recently acquired Db1 and see if there is actually an engine underneath that all encompassing bodywork, well I say engine....be it lawnmower or otherwise.....
Amazing the different size in bolts between Db1 and DB2 for holding the seat unit on.......
Mikuni flatslides, note the half moon cut-out to accommodate the frame rail
And no , I haven't taken off the filters, thats how it came,,,,,Hhmmm,, perhaps strictly a dry day ride and no dusty roads methinks
Note the ally tank and crankcase catch tank, and not plastic, allegedly only on the early Db1's and later switch to plastic to save costs
And a few close ups, front cylinder with heat shroud lagging to header, all nice and clean so far,
This is actually the underside of the belly pan, just one small stone chip on it, it really is that clean
Looks to be plenty of space in here for a 17 inch wheel???
Electronic ignition, how modern??????/
This ones a great one, the front brake reservoir pot sits atop the fork , then feeds to the front brake master cylinder, down one braided line to a Banjo fitting on the front face of the lower yoke, yup, then feeds via 2 inbuilt channels in the lower yoke to 2 banjo fittings on the rear of the lower yoke, and then braided lines again to the front calipers, how Heath Robinson?
Believe it or not, Front nose fitting, 2 allen bolts and 4 quarter turn dzus fittings and its off, undo indicators, and 4 dzus fittings and lower belly pan is off, undo rear light unit connector and 4 large allen bolts and seat/tank unit is off. Even taking it easy and having a tea break, MAX 10 Minutes....Where did it all go wrong after this????????..
Thats about it for now, for anyone interested I'll update with belt changes, fluids, fresh petrol in tank, battery, etc and then it will be prod of the GO button, More later, have to eat........ |
