Hi Geoff...and welcome to the Forum...theres at least 3 other DB6 owners on here....and a few more DB5 owners....as they share a lot of parts.....
Do you guys run in Kms or Miles over there? As the clocks are easily changed over by pressing buttons here and there.......
Keep a close eye on the chain tension..there should be a cheap plastic swingarm guard that wraps and bolts around the lower frame rail of the swingarm.....run your fingers along it and see if theres a dirty great groove running through it...as after that its grinding into the swingarm itself. Darn thing is made of playdough or somesuch...and not up to the job....Other than that...with it being a Ducati engine check for when the belts were last changed on it......if they are fresh they still will have white printed numbers etc on the outside of the belts.....just whip off the front belt cover as thats easy to get off......Oh...valve clearances check are recommended at 6,000 miles on these engines
Other than that, ride and enjoy...oh and get some Arrow or Zard open silencers for the back end.....rids the bike of some excess 10kilos and makes for a fruitier sound and ride...... |

Welcome to the forum Geoff. Plenty of good info on here. There's a few other Kiwi's on here too. Enjoy the Bim on those glorious roads you have over there.

Seems to have a few non-standard extras....Carbon frame inserts, battery cover, heat shields on exhaust cans...and Red HT spark plug leads...so maybe starts a little easier than a standard Duc.........Strange how it has a standard Bimota metal Frame plate on the frame rail...Must differ between countries they send the bikes to........Not seen a frame plate on a Db5/6 before....just the stamp on the headstock....a sticker on one of the alloy frame plates....and another frame number stamp in a secret location thats hidden by a part rarely removed from a bike...Must be there to help identify in case of theft and other numbers being removed............
Nice colour scheme though

David here.
Ive adored Bimotas since the 70's.
passed on a few along the way including a Tua Tara race bike just a couple of $100s away and a Suzuki tube frame SB2 for $3500. The owner was begging me to buy.
DOH !
Now looking for a TESI to put alongside a 999R and 900CR Ducati and Harley (sorry) Road King. |

Hey Everyone, Adam Bauer here,
I bought my 2000 DB4 #013 directly from Bob Smith @ Moto-Point when they were the importer to the USA back in 2000 or 2001... I rolled it out of the RCA Dome from the motorcycle trade show when I was working at a dealer back then. I got all the stock parts plus the performance kit they offered with the flat slides and corse exhaust along with all the factory parts and service manuals. Been a fun bike, have about 5500 miles on it.
When I figure out how to upload a picture I will but in the meantime here is a link with a pic with my racebike and what not:

Cheers,

Welcome to the forum Adam. Still a few db4 Corse bikes coming out of the woodwork eh.
Tell us a bit more about your racing mate.

Thanks for the help posting the pics Brian!
I will start a thread in the General Chat session with info on my racebikes as none of them are Bimotas.
Cheers,

Hello, My name is Joseph. I'm in Atlanta GA USA. I have a 2007 DB6. The DB6 is the most fun bike I own. We have great mountain roads in north Georgia. I have been riding mostly Ducati's and had the chance to pick up the DB6 last year. Well, I'm hooked and tomorrow I'm picking up my 2008 Tesi 3D LE . I've never even seen a Tesi in person, so I'm pretty excited. I'll post the Tesi pic soon, but here is my DB6. The previous owner added the "R" steering damper, Zard exhaust, new brake and clutch reservoirs, and some carbon extras. I added the smaller bar end mirrors.

Welcome to the forum Joseph. Nice pic of the db6 mate and congrats for managing to post a pic on your first post . It baffles most.
I can imagine how excited you are... I envy you picking up the Tesi. Post a pic when you can prise your ass off the seat _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Hi Joseph....and welcome to the Forum....congrats in your purchase(s)...and on posting your picture on your first post ...since joining in August...what took you so long?
DB6 is a nice bike and quite a practical Bimota.....think that theres only 3 of us on here with Db6's...and we all live on different continents...so not much chance of bumping into each other...
Tesi 3D.....I can see that you've gotten bitten by the Bimota bug.....it is infectious and incurable I'm afraid....they dont like to live alone....
How do you find the seat on the DB6? Quite a snug fit?? |

I find the DB6 seat a great fit. I'm only 5'7". I do wear "bicycle shorts" under my riding gear. I found the seat to be stiff after longer rides. The shorts work well. |

Yeh....I do the same with shorts with Gel inserts in them for the DB6....seems to be too stiff after 80 miles or so in the saddle....strange really as its an ideal riding position....yet with a stiff seat....the DB5 by comparison has a seat thats comfortable well after 100 miles without any issues.... |
