Thinking of changing when my current setup wears out as i don't do a lot of km each year and i'm going for lighter rims at the same time.. The 530 system seems to last and last, even with the rear sprocket made of aluminium and not anodised. If i could get 20,000km out of the narrower sprockets and chain id be quite happy but not sure if thats possible.
Rather try 525 but front sprocket choices harder than going for 520 as thats a common race size 15-17 no worries.
Guessing some people have tried it? _________________ YB8EI |

Hi,
Yes all my Bimota's now have 520 chains.
This includes YB4, YB6, YB11, SB8 and Mantra.
No issues with any of them.
I even changed my 6r to 520 before I let her go.
The weight saving on the earlier bikes is immense, chain technology has moved on so much it is not an issue anymore.
Plus the fact it is so much easier just buying one size chain.
New R1's have a 525 chain but i think they have about 170bhp ATRW.............. |

I've got the 520 chain on my YB8 race bike. I used R6 520 conversion sprocket on the front and a Renthal rear.
If you want to use a 525 chain, use standard R6 sprockets.
Check your rear sprocket bolt pattern against the R6 but it should be all good. |
