Hey Phil. Could you do me a favour. I am changing the wheels on my SB6 from the Oscom set up to the later Antera type set up , disc's , wider hub etc.
Could you take a picture of the drive dogs in the front wheel and the speedo drive , also any numbers on the speedo drive, and dimensions would be good.
Either dymag supplied wheels wrong or the speedo drive is not a 900ss like if thought.
Thanks |

I'd avoid the Antera they're heavy wheels _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

No not putting antera on, got dymags, just went for the wider antera hub set up which means I need to change speedo drive and the 900ss set up I thought it was does not seem right. But have nothing to compare it to. |

loads of pics to follow:-
right, had to pool weld with a mig into the front disc bolts to get them out, nice an easy, no pics as they're on my pesky iphone. but took less than 15 mins for the both sides
front sprocket is cracked, Oily thinks he may have one but if not found one for £25 inc post
Slave seal needs replacing but the slave cyl may clean up with a hone
the stand works great, had to make some little alloy inserts, there's a 4mm dowel pin on the back, had to drill out the groove in the front engine mounts [I guess that's what they are in the engines usual location- GSXR] to accept this, required to stop the insert rotating when screwing the bolts in/out. As you can see I screwed up on one hole, trying to get an M4 dowel in a 4.3 mm wall is tricky, should have used the pillar drill really!
So stand is super stable, can haul the bike around the drive with one hand. Dead easy to remove the frame too
So now to check the valve clearances and give everything a good clean. To be fair it's just a little grubby, will stick things through the parts washer, probably paint a few odds and sods
the front wheel has some run out, about 0.6mm radially and 0.9mm laterally, which is within spec. Suzuki states 2mm max but a guy who starightens wheels said they stick a limit of 1.5mm on race wheels for slicks and 3mm for wets
Vort- I called Oily about your issue, I bought one off him ages ago for the 851, his had been bored out to 20mm for an SB6 and I had to get it sleeved again for the 851. The pics are of mine now, you'll see where it's ground away, I'm pretty usre the one I had of Oily 3 years ago was ground back similar. Says CEK on it, 20mm bore
pics!
oh yes, 1st pic, the rear exhaust mount has failed, I'll make another and weld it on

Thanks for the speedo drive pic's Phil. Sort of confirms what I thought. Oily once had the same issue as me and ended up getting the early 900ss speedo drive and drilling it out to 20mm . Now I thought it would be easy to get a later 900ss 20mm drive, but guess what the 20mm spindle one is bigger in ever dimension also and can't find the CEV748219 one anywhere, so doing an Oily and boring out a 17mm one. |

checking valve clearances I got a range of 0.11 to 0.15mm on inlets [spec 0.10 to 0.20] and 0.26 to 0.29mm on exhaust [spec 0.20 to 0.30]
I can’t think if they close or open, I have a feeling inlets close up, so would probably need to do 3
I got a purple [!]sprocket cover from Oily, just need to paint it. Clutch seal from dealers. . . .. all happening! _________________ 03 YB11, 03 Aprilia RSVR Edwards, 94 Ducati Superlight III, 95 Honda NC30, 04 Ducati 999S, 91 kawasaki KR1-S C2, 91 Ducati 851 USD Strada, 89 ZXR750H1, 90 ZXR400H1, 205 16v Rally Car, A6 2.7TDI Avant, STM R1 engined Phoenix |

Loving the stand design.
I have an 1100 oil cooled motor stand that I think I will mod in this way. _________________ Si...
