Ok, guys, this should be a an easy one. Bike is a 2007-8 DB5R with stock front turn signals and Ducati led rear signals. When I turn on the signals some of the time they work correctly, some times they light butt do not flash, just steady on. Any ideas as to what could cause this? It sounds like a dodgy flasher unit to me,any other thoughts? _________________ Spike C.

I'd have said the indicator relay or maybe a dodgy connection that's changing the overall resistance of the circuit.
Try a bulbed indicator on the front, if you have one to hand, just to check it otherwise use a different relay. My FZR400RR had a similar thing (4 cheap aftermarket bulbed indicators) I used a cheap relay from Halfords and now they're fine. _________________ Don't read everything you believe |

Disconnect your aftermarkey rear Units and see if the fronts flash OK.....then its to Evils thoughts that the flasher unit needs changing...also ensure the battery is up to speed with sufficient charge |

All of the lights function, and for the last couple of rides the flasher has been behaving. I wiggled a couple of wires in the rear and that seems to have fixed it for now!
A while back when I was looking to spend some money a suggestion was made to get an alloy bit that replaces the rear plate holder and signal mount. I had a bout of blingitis a few days ago and ordered one, when I install it I will scrutinize the rear more closely! _________________ Spike C.

Well, I still haven't removed the side panel to look at the flasher unit, but yesterday while riding around the city I noticed that if I was stopped the lights would not flash, just steady on, and when moving, if I reved the engine enough to make some vibration they would work correctly. This is pretty consistent. If it was a loose wire I would expect an inconsistent result.
I think that I will order a flasher unit. Any recommendations on which one would be appropriate? _________________ Spike C.

Got to a shop and explain what indicators and relay you have, they'll sell you one ... _________________ Don't read everything you believe |
