Well its Winterish time...so a "best to check whats going on" oil change was duly booked in on a clear dry day to haul the bike from the garage.........
And whilst the belly pan was off....time also to change over the alloy gear rod....for a long awaited Carbon fibre gear rod.........Weight saving....25grammes in place of 40 grammes...........Wow....off now to eat half a bag of crisps to make up the difference...........
Old one.........
And shiney new carbon one
And heres my Heath Robinson method of refilling the gearbox via the tiny aperture..........Hole drilled in cap of Oil refill bottle, and tube inserted....hole made in end of oil filler bottle to allow oil to release...and tied to clip on with oiley rag......worked a charm....

We all love the bike that bankrupt Bimbo land.
I'm saving weight in an opposite way lately
Seriously, are you running injected, or carbed?
I think the v-due is one of the worlds most desirable bikes. An epic, visionary, and courageous tale. |

Its a Carbed Jolly Moto Evo edition....had it a couple of years now....always the choice of fun...that is when I'm feeling up for it...as its hardly a "lazy" ride of choice........I think if Bimota had realised how visionary, epic and courageous they were...they wouldnt have tried in the first place.... |

| Just fitted silicon hoses to mine, a bit of a job since the cylinder head elbows are tapered. |

It was a toss up between a carbon gear rod.....or the elusive bimota Logo'd teany tiny alley key for the oil cap removal............
Your Vdue all sorted now JRH?
Part reason for dropping my oil was to check for any stray spragg clutch countersunk bolt heads..........luckily only a tiny piece of swarf stuck to the magnetic sump plug...........Phew......... |

Mine is running better than ever. Have had 2 trackdays (Donington and Mallory) and rung its neck like it was a moped. At Donington, it was definitely outpaced by the big modern stuff, but could out brake almost everything. At Mallory it felt more equal.
Just fitted silicon hoses, and gave it a full service.
Make sure you change the front sprocket bolt (in your picture) its as soft as cheese |
