Can anyone give me a quick over view of the SB8's please
different models etc, it's the lesser model I'm mostly interested in, Ive been offered one and just curious as to it's value. Don't know much about them
Maybe there's a link to a buyers guide or something?
cheers,

Obviously the basic's , all SB8's have the TL1000R motor, slightly different to the TL1000S engine, some strengthened internals etc.
SB8R/RS injection system is of a more standard set up but in true Bimota fashion not the standard Suzuki item, and has 59mm throttle bodies that are mean't to give a big top end rush but can be difficult to set up lower down.
Personally only have experiance with the later K set up which is different again, but have spoken to R/RS owner's who have said they can be a handful at low rev's and a dynojet and a day set up on a dyno is needed .
Value ???? as with all Bimota's is what its worth to you.
Riding they feel quite a big bike , even if the figures say otherwise, think its the air tube's etc but generally handle OK, but again like all Bimota's there are plenty of screw's to twiddle and mess the handling up. |

My Sb8rs is absolutely wonderful.................
However points to note.
1. Cannot be ridden slowly through towns as the throttle bodies are so big. No matter how much it is "sorted" it will still make it a very unwanted experience. Wants to be ridden quickly and this is where it is at its best. Long sweeping A roads with no speed cameras. Beware 100+ mph seems like 50 on this bike.
2. If is does not have a PC3 fitted, you would need to add on (or take off approximately) £700 from the price.
3. Suspension is good, but does need to be set up. Very comfortable, because of the wide seat. I have done over 300 miles in one day with no ill effects.
4. Spares are nearly unobtainable as we all know.
5. Reliable, mine has done 30,000 miles now.
6. If possible lightweight wheels.
7. Buy it, ride how it is suppose to be ridden and enjoy....................... |

Many thanks for the replies, still awaiting more details of it. Sounds a bit too problematic for me, might just stick with the YB11 I think!
Typical Bimota- needs finishing! _________________ 03 YB11, 03 Aprilia RSVR Edwards, 94 Ducati Superlight III, 95 Honda NC30, 04 Ducati 999S, 91 kawasaki KR1-S C2, 91 Ducati 851 USD Strada, 89 ZXR750H1, 90 ZXR400H1, 205 16v Rally Car, A6 2.7TDI Avant, STM R1 engined Phoenix |
