Apologies for a really trivial question, but the front screw on my DB4ie gearchange link rod fell out a few weeks ago, fortunately I was only a few hundred metres from home so limped back in 2nd gear. The next day the road was resurfaced so I've no chance of finding the errant screw. I've replaced it with an M5 lowhead socket cap, with nut, however I can't picture what the original was. I think the same footrests and linkage were also used on the SB6, SB8, DB3 etc, so could anyone satisfy my curiosity and tell me what fastener should be in there please?
Thanks!
Martin

Do you mean the pinch bolt on gear change shaft ... I use a m5 flange bolt

Hi...if youre talking about the bolt that links to the olive swivels on the gear chage rod, either end...then its merely an M5 lowhead as you thought...although its a short one without a nut on the other end as the alloy links on the gearshaft spline and on the footrest side are both threaded...But of course you can put a longer bolt in place with a secondary secure nut on the back face of you wish

Thanks 2Bims, that's the one. I thought it was a lowhead but it doesn't fit into a recess which the one on the pedal does so doesn't look as neat. After losing the original I've used a longer screw and added a nut for security.
