Gents
sent the KB1 tank off for relining in the North East UK and its been collected by a courier before they put the address on it. it's been missing a week while they are trying to find it. If you see one for sale anywhere please pm me. it only has Bimota decal on the sides, no filler cap or tap as I have these. it is fibreglass only, not aluminium lined.
cheers
ps anyone got a tank they can lend me for the Classic TT parade lap that the KB is booked for from the 20th to 28th August please pm me.

Thats a true Bummer Nige...may be a faff for the reliners...but surely they should be sending someone to the depot to search around and source a Tank shaped/sized box with no labels on......as it cant have been sent out from the depot without a label on it as they wouldnt know which van/train whatever to put it on...........

Hi Nige,

I'm searching for one but apparently there are different ones; type 1, 2 or 3?

Which one is yours?

Hi Frank
no idea which one, it's full fibreglass with the round filler cap. I've seen one with glass fibre outside and inner metal tank, and one with a modern style flip lid and no breather at the front.
that's as much as I know. I think they all fit but any one will do Smile
Nige

Hi Nige,

Apparently there are different polyester versions (and an aluminium one for France I believe), do you have some pics of yours?
I'm just trying to find out what options you have should yours be/stay lost.
I know someone (in Germany) who has made copies of them (from the original ones) and have asked him the cost but he told me that he has molds of 2 versions .....
Never a bad idea to know what it would cost.
I also know of a person in Italy (Genova) who makes copies, but have no idea with regard to the quality.
Just hope it gives you some peace of mind .....

Let me know if you have those pics (you can send me those by private mail).
Maybe the cap (picture) can help him out to find out which one you need.

Frank

HI ALL
MY KB1 TANK HAS DEFINITELY BEEN STOLEN FROM THE LINING COMPANY IN THE NORTH OF THE UK.
PLEASE KEEP YOUR EYES OUT ACROSS THE WEB ETC AND IF ONE APPEARS ONLINE PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

IT IS ONLY FIBREGLASS, HAS BEEN ETHANOL RESISTANT LINED, HAS NO CAP, TAP OR BREATHER AS I HAVE THESE. IT ALSO ONLY HAS BIMOTA ON THE DECAL, NOT "KAWASAKI BIMOTA"

CHEERS CHAPS

Nige

Ask the Lining company how they're dealing with it, if they're going to involve the Police and claim on their insurance or if they want to simply "find" you a replacement.

It might be prudent to report it to your insurance company whatever the outcome of the conversation with the Lining company.
