Hello to all. I'm the chap trying to off load my SB6R in the forum. Thought it might be a good place to advertise it, but sadly not. Now it could be the price is too rich, it may be that there is no one currently in the market looking for a SB6R. We all know they are fantastic bikes and they are a bit different to the usual stuff out there. But what is a good price? I saw further below in the forum a SB6R with 28000 miles went for 6K. Mine has 3400 miles, so what gives? Ok, so I pitched it at 7K, may be it should be 6.5K? May be 6K? Obviously I'm not going to give it away, but some feed back would be appreciated. MCN is a waste of money in my opinion, more tyre kickers that serious buyers. Any suggestions on the best way to sell the bike? Ebay? Thanks for any response in advance.

The one that went for 6k is sorted and has known history from well thought of owners.
Selling bikes here can be tricky, we all know what a good bike is but then we all have one already. I'd put it on ebay with some good pics and if you can show what's under the fairings too.

Bimota themselves said that the 6r was the best bike they had made, up until that point. However, out of the crate, they carry weight and where it's least desirable, which contributed to them being labelled sports tourer, rather than out and out sports bike. They suffer from having a prettier sister and whilst we all know that "a pretty face isn't everything", the adage doesn't necessarily inform our choice in bikes any more than in other aspects of life.

Personally, I think that they are the basis for a fantastic bike and they deserve to be made into something which fulfills their potential and that is the only basis on which I would buy one. The downside is that that involves a reasonably substantial cost.

So I think you need to price yours to reflect the cost required to turn it into what it could be, or to reflect the fact that most people couldn't be bothered with the work involved and therefore their interest will only be garnered by a "bargain". Unfortunately, I don't think that price bears any resemblance to the low-mileage and original shop price of £16k, that you might expect. Remember that they were being deeply discounted, to shift them, even when they were new.

I'm not in the market for one, otherwise I'd be bidding, but I would think that it needs to start with a 5, if you're serious about selling.

For what it's worth, a sorted one, should command twice that for its character and ability - notice no mention of looks! The GSXR 1100 engine donor spawned a million and one visions of what people thought a motorbike should be about. With an SB6R, you not only get the great motor but also a great frame and good suspension. So somebody buy this man's bike and give a much under-rated Bimota a good home.

Having never ridden a 6r I can't compare the performance, but I will say... the 6 is the sexier sister to look at Wink

The 6R has a bigger airbox so makes more power, and the saddles softer

had a choide when i bought mine and bought a 6R.......

no contest IMO although if i had the extra cash i'd have an early SB/KB
