My stock 6r showed142bhp on a dyno that showed my 1030cc YB8 at around 130bhp. When I say stock, the 6r has an after-market exhaust and filter but no big bore. _________________ What, Jonny's gone! |

Ok most of the bikes built in the early 90's that were of European origin suffered "euro emission law" that means they were capped at 100hp/ps. So they made the power curve fat through the mid range to keep buyers happy & not going to jap bikes. I did extensive work to my SB6 only to reveal 130 at the back door. So my mate who has the dyno conferred with me on this point. The SB6 has a 'bus stop' in the form of the air box. It's big enough but no flow. You really need to slot the cams & dial them in. Magic #s are 106/108...10. That engine is capable of 220rwhp aspirated. Like I have said b4 throw a CDI from a 1991 750 & that will raise the ceiling. When you are failing the cams get the new head gasket & drill the rivets out & only use one shim, making sure to seal the non treated surface. Good luck. _________________ if you aint` slidn` , you aint` ridn` |

Bimota used low lift cams to limit the bike to 100 brake but yeah its airbox that's the problem after that _________________ Don't read everything you believe |
