Hi,

Does anyone know the differences (spec. wise) between a normal P08 and a P08 Gold Line caliper?
Obviously the colour but can't believe that's all there is to it.....

I will during my overhaul change all seals for new ones (seems not such a bad idea after 30 years of service) and will buy stainless steel bleed nipples from Probolt).
But what with the telflon coated pistons?
Is that a must or just a gadget?

Interesting to know your experiences.

good question frank, i seem to recall that when the goldlines first came out they were for more racier bikes at the time, apparently they were supposed to be lighter than the standard po8, achieved by using alumium alloy brake pistons and some finer machining of caliper boby. I think i have a old pair of black po8's in the attic, might hunt them out and weigh and compare them to the gold ones just to see. Cant imagine much difference though.

Hi Waggy,

I've seen them for sale (new ones) and they cost roughly 1,5 times the normal black ones.
The only thing I can immagine is that they have other (lighter) pistons......
I' ve asked Brembo ...... curious if I get an answer.

Needed a new rear master cylinder but that's also not so simple apparently since ours have a 50mm. pitch and today their standard is 40mm.
Mine is slightly leaking .......

Any idea what the number of Brembo's revision kit is?

I've ordered new Brembo pads (bleu ones) and revision kits for front and rear calipers.
Just wondering if the original brake hoses are teflon or other plastic ones (after I have a new front master cylinder I will order new ones from Hell anyway).

Received the K&Ns yesterday!
Just felt like 18 again (had those an my first bike Honda 400F in 1979).

After mine is restored (in a year or so) I will have it tuned since I'm not sure which jets I need.

By the way what do you have for ingnition system, I'm considering a new non standard one (reliability) most likely one from Dyna?

Anyway happy Christmas on the isle!

Hi Frank, hope your having a great xmas, i am currently suffering from too much food and drink hic Sad My rear master cylinder is not original, mounting holes are slightly shorter and someone has drilled another hole on bracket to fit it, also footpeg and brakestop have been shimmed out a bit to align pushrod. Have tried to find original master cylinder but they appear to be as rare as hens teeth, still searching. The rear master cylinders i believe are 15mm and rebuild kits are available, best to contact a dealer. My bike came with green 3 ohm dynacoils and are an easy fit to the frame. Time for some turkey sandwiches Very Happy

Waggy,

There is one for sale on ebay now (germany).
If you won't take it I will.
Assume a revision kit is sufficient for me, just don't know the right number.
