Thats one tasty triple, wish bimota would go down the retro route and make some tasty naked retro bikes to really show of there engineering and quality, the bb4 leaves me cold, don't much see the logic or point of it, come on bimota be more original and inventive. |

Inventive and Original? I do agree that they would have more character and perhaps appeal by doing retro bikes for those that missed out first time around...Heres the self same 2-stroke Kwack Bimota triple 800cc courtesy of you tube...much better with smoke and sound....

I suppose by inventive and original, I mean something more than run of the mill, there latest bmw powered creation to me is no better than the donor bike, cant see anything that i would describe as cutting edge or new. I cant see how bimota can compete in the sports bike market now, they are dwarfed by the vast r&d resources and racing experience of the larger manufacturers. I daresay they might also be restricted in what they can do by the big firms that supply the engines. I would like to see them approach an engine only supplier, like i believe the new hesketh has done, then let their imagination run riot and create a stunning bike full of innovation, maybe a hossack type front end that looks stylish etc, modern retro, cafe racer, who knows, just break the mold. If a small firm like ghezzi & brain can create the guzzi mgs01 then i think bimota can and must do better. I just feel the bmw bimota won't save bimota, they need a monster, it worked for ducati. |
