I just stumbled upon your forum in my search for a lower triple for my SB6R.
I have owned my 6R since new in '98. "Clean, one owner" with 14,000 miles (22,539Km)
I have had it on the race track once and was having a great ol' time grinding the pegs, until I remembered, "Hey, they don't make those anymore"....LOL

I am 53 years old with a bad back and neck, but REFUSE to give up my sport-bike!
"I refuse to die, without having lived!"

I look forward to mixing it up with what I see as my world-wide brethren.

Cheers to you all! Very Happy

Looking good at Miller Motorsport.

What's up with your lower triple?

Welcome to the forum.
Judging from the lean angle in that photo you are a rider, not just an owner.
Go to the top of the class and take a bow.
I've never scraped a bimota peg without falling off !!
Honda 50's don't count do they?

Thanks for the welcome, guys!

The lower triple broke in a trailering incident where the bike was tied down (too tightly) and I went through a gutter (too fast) leaving a parking lot at an angle. The sideways jolt put a lateral force that the lower triple wasn't designed to take and it broke. Believe it or not, I fixed it with three pins and JB WELD!!!! It has taken the forces of spirited canyon riding and the race track and I've been using it that way for about 4 years (8,000km). I just had a bad feeling this spring (trying to get her back on the road for the year) and I just have to find a replacement.

I have found a used one at a salvage operation in Germany (http://www.graf-bimota.de/en/). I am waiting to hear from them too see if they can ship to the USA. They have a used one for me, but I'm still waiting to see if I can complete the transaction. Has anyone heard of these guys? It is a bit scary dealing with someone, to the tune of hundreds of dollars, halfway around the world. That's kind of far to go to beat someone into the ground if they screw with you! LOL!

In my experience in dealing with the germans they are pretty straight up honest people ( unless you live in poland) .

hi
Rudolf Graf is 100%
He's slow to reply, because he has to get someone in to do the 'English'.
But you should get good parts in my experience.
all the best
Ian

Thanks guys! I am still trying to iron out all the wrinkles with all the account numbers and exchange rates. Our Yankee bucks are taking a beating for sure!!! I actually found one here in the US, but the guy at bimota-spirit won't call me back for nothin'. This whole thing is a pain in the ash, for sure.

CC (Ian), It is VERY comforting to know that Mr. Rudolf Graf of Graf-Bimota has a good review. You just took a weight off my shoulders.

E-chicken, I do have a line on some custom CNC guys in the states, but I really would prefer to keep my pristine original example, just that, original. As a matter of fact, I just recently took the "euro" license plate holder off the bike. Our plates are 1/4 the size of the parachutes I see in Europe. Wink

Bim,.......priceless! Laughing
