Ran out of fuel yesterday. Very embarrassing calling my dad at my age to bring me a can of fuel.

Anyway it's either the bulb or float stuck. But I do think bulb. The bulb doesn't light up with first turn of the key as the oil light does. My question to all is what's the best way to access the bulbs without stripping half the bike down. There maybe a really easy way. Thanks for everyone's help. Off to France and Spain end of may so really need the fuel light.

I really hope it's the bulb for your sake. The fuel senders on these bimotas are known to fail. Not sure about the 6r but both senders on my sb6 and db4 are cactus. I don't think anyone has found a compatable replacement yet. I'm no help with the 6r dash sorry.

... oily?

You can test the bulb by taking the wires off the float sender and shorting them then see if the bulb lights.

You'll need the top fairing off to get to the clocks I expect

The light won't come on like the oil light when you turn on the ignition anyway (as long as there is fuel in the tank).
Bulbs are dead easy to replace on the 6R clocks Wink
You should now toss a coin to decide if you should have the tank off first to check the sender or test the bulb first. Both should take no more than 30 minuets. your time starts now, Good luck Wink
