Nice one 2bims. Did you have the new one made or did you buy it? I'm chasing something similar for the db4 _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Nah, its a spare I had lying around, started buying bits a few years ago before getting way laid with Bimota Ownership, as I had promised myself a full resto and Superlight conversion, and now getting round to it. Fortunately theres lots of Ducati Nuts in the UK that similarly hold "spares" and at some time release them onto Ebay. And then theres those Germans, that despite excellence in Engineering, reliability etc, also seem to love Ducatis and theres lots of specialist places making bits for them.
Why are you looking for a new front subframe? |

No, just a carbon surround for the clocks. The daggy fake glued on one is looking a bit shabby _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Ah right I'm with you now Brian. Now would you like a reversible carbon lacquered one that has 2 different weaves to choose from (They only cover the top right tacho and bottom middle temp gauge), standard flat ones just pop straight over the top of the exisitng clocks, 10 second fixing time. OR, do you want a 3D version that is nicely sculptered around the 2 clocks and dresses over the sides of the foam also, completely covering the foam surround, but with these they fit BENEATH the clocks, ie. you have to take the clock assembly off and then fit the carbon, well just drop it on, then refit the clocks, and the black bezel of the clocks keeps it in place, looks far neater and stops it gatting stolen/flying off at some stage?
Around 20GBP for a flat one, and some lovely 35GBP for a 3D one that requires removal of the clocks

Evidently you won't need any guesses as to what I went for on the DB4....Bimotas are often painful, but I think their Owners like it like that And often add more pain to the equation just for the Hell of it |

Oh just in case you were wondering, Any Ducati 750,900SSie from '98 onwards, or 748/916/996/998 etc will do, as they are all exactly the same clocks, sizes etc. If you're struggling with stockists in Oz, I suppose I could source and add it to your goody pile. |

Hadn't thought of good Ol Ebay? Wash your mouth out with soap and water....
Pretty sure that this is the cmpany I got mine from
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DUCATI-748-916-966-998-CARBON-FIBRE-INSTRUMENT-SURROUND-CLOCK-SURROUND-TRIM-NEW-/250975073228?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item3a6f47b3cc
They say contact them for postage outside of UK, one other was offering 12.50 for postage to Oz, Ouch..let me know if you want to get one with free P+P and you could send it direct to Vort and he could package it up direct with the other bits and pieces, would save you on postage at least
I would say that the wrap around versions are far better lookling, no nasty edges showing, covers all the foam and looks far more like it was there in the first place, factory fitted like on other Bimotas that have them as a wrap around. The flat ones are OK but you'll know that you cheated with the cheapie option and it won't rest, like it did with myself |

No probs with delivery to me. Going to take Brains other stuff to Oily next week when I deliver his wheels, so can just go in the LARGE aid parcel off to Oz. |

Some spare time last Sunday so triple clocks with new 3D carbon surround were fitted and bodywork back on, not an easy task with the clam shell fairing and only one pair of hands, but getting quite adept at slotting the fairing over my head and shoulders and crawling on my hands and knees toward the front of the bike to slide it over the front wheel, whilst prising it open. Even had time for a quick 40 mile ride out in the evening sun before back home. Can't believe its time for its 3rd MOT next week since I've owned it

Cheers Pomps, I was well glad to find a company that still did the 3d wrap around version, far more professional and "factory fit" looking than the simple "plonk" on top version that is very visble as an add on. The clocks having to be taken out is a bit of a faff, but worth the effort and a precision fit. had to really push home hard each clock to get them through the drilled holes |

A little bit of an update, nice man Chris Newbiggins, aka Rucksack on here and feature editor for Practical Sportsbikes, has sent me a whole disc load of the professional photos taken by Weeble the cameraman, nice to have, so heres a few shots, but Copyright is on them so no printing and touting out on ebay or somesuch as I'll get in trouble. But if someone wants to put an image on a cup and send to me, then that would be OK
