Yeh Jure.....I had a sneaky look at the long range weather report and saw it was due to be OK to fine...so took a last minute booking on the ferry just one week before the event....It did mean I was sleeping on the sofa at various locations as a result but hey ho....it was good to get the Vdue on the island and try it out....I've now ridden 2 No. DB2's on the island, a DB3, DB5R, DB6R and the Vdue...so plenty of variety...in fact...I've almost ran out of choice for any return visits........ |

Cheers Bud...we;d love to get 4 or 5 on the island...I'm sure that would be a great sight ....we know of at least that within the UK that at least run and ride their Vdues....we could double that to 10, but the other five dont ride the bikes....coz then "they wouldnt be new anymore"...which I'm fine with, but they are missing the point of the bike IMHO....I only realised later that they were running the RD250LC proddie race at the rain soaked silverstone GP on the Sunday....those 3 bikes were at the Isle of Man on the Monday...so maybe they were 3 spare ones they brought over just to advertise the event.......
Whats the secret recipe? well you can buy it in powdered form and just add boiling water....its fake and cheap and nasty processed stuff....so is a complete mix of all that you remember fondly of food as a child before these healthy types try to force their opinions upon the masses for some apparent greater good.........  |

Finally found someone on manx gp facebook page that snapped the only other Bimota we found on the island...was always riding around so never got to snap it...an SB6...with apparently...the "right" number of cylinders.........and a few 2-strokes also

The blue RS-RG500 is mine and I am very proud to own it. Yes, it cost a lot, but I don't have any regrets in having it built and the cost, as there is so much detail to look at and admire on the bike.
I am so glad I got just 15-seconds to see your Bimota-500Vdue because since I came back from the Manx Classic TT all I have done is look at them and read so much about how they started life as a bike they are one lovely machine and the sound is just wonderful!!!
So today I went and put a deposit on my Bimota-500-Vdue Evolution and pick it up tomorrow evening. I so can't wait to pick it up!!! It comes with a spares package as well and all of the spares are brand new!! ( Two Side Panels, Fuel Tank, Seat Unit And Chassis ) And a few more bits two key with leather pouch that the keys folds into and all the paperwork from new. The guy I bought it from has had it from new!!! He collected it from the factory himself.

A special RG500 gamma in the carpark...a fellow I later met exiting the ferry who had been seeing the Vdues all over the island and was just dying to know what they were, how much, and where can he get one........seeing the effort hes put into this RG500...he seemed like he could have saved some money in just buying a Vdue instead...Apologies to said fellow in not answering his questions...as the traffic lights had just changed to green and I was off home..

Hi Stu
It is very kind of you to offer to help with assistance to me. I am sure I will need some!!!!. I went out on my bike this evening for the first time just for ten minutes and it rode very similar to my Ducati Panigale 1199 but without as much engine braking. It feels much bigger than I was expecting, but it rode very nicely indeed. I was very surprised how much torque it has and how the front wheel comes up!!! I will need a lot of seat time to get used to it!!! I am very proud to be a Bimota owner
I do have a few things on the dash I don't understand and it does not say anything about the dash in all the paperwork I have or I may have missed it somewhere as all I wanted to do was pop out on the bike to see how it rides!!! lol

Hi Mark...presumably you have one of these dashes on board?
Originally the Vdues were fitted with sort of normal dial clocks for tacho, speed etc......later carbed versions had the ones above
The clocks are your ECU also......dont get them too wet...as in direct hose attack as they'll steam up.....basically theres just the one button in the middle of the 3 that does anything.....it cycles between displaying Revs as a numeric number on the 6 digit display on the left, or water temp, or fluids level, or total odometer, or trip No.1 or Trip No. 2.....Then you have left indicator and right...on the left and right...Lights on, main bean, neutral and low oil warning....but I'm not certain whether low oil does anything.....certainly the 2 stroke bottle doesnt have any level meter or cables on it....so maybe oil pressure in the engine/gearbox.....but then theres only 0.9 litres of oil in a full gearbox...At the top there is a shift light that comes on at around 10,000 revs...and theres a low fuel warning light also....this will or should if working...come on when dipping under breaking at around 70 miles from a full tank....then head straight for a garage...as theres prescious little left at this stage and no reserve...
Is the speedometer stable on your bike up to 80/90mph? or is it erratic in reading correctly? easy fix if not....
There is paperwork for how to use the dash....but its an "extra" and not in the manuals for the bike...just some computer printed sheets.... |
