Its time you changed your forum name! What a great addition, impressive collection. Have you built a bigger garage? |
If I changed my name, then you's all know how many I've got....Got into this by buying "2Bims" at the same time from same seller, so as thats where it all started, kind of like to keep the "monica"...
Due to them all having lawn mower engines they are all nice and skinny so 4 alongside each other fit in where before only 3 would fit...And rather than moving I found it easier to just find another garage |

Awesome! What a beautiful bike....one thing that hurt my eyes were the ducati logis on the lovely gold anodised brake fluid covers
 |
Yeh I go along with that, they're a temporary fix until some red Oberon caps turn up from the Postie....When the bike pitched up,,,the photos looked like they had billet Rizoma pots with red tops, but one was leaking at the hose, tied on with a cable tie, and the lids were a swine to take off, and when I did I saw that previous owner had used "plumbers mate" PTFE tape to take up the slack on the lids ....So a temporary fix of some brembo pots and lids I had lying around ....had to get shut quick before the rest of the clutch and brake fluids leaked out....Plus I like to see the fluid levels
Later found "same" pots and lids supplied from China on ebay for around a fiver....no thanks..And that includes POSTAGE....
Should be corrected tomorrow when Postie arrives |

Nice one 2bims. So that's db1, db2, db4, db5. db6... not counting 'other' lovely's in the herem.
I like the splashes of carbon on the db6, the nice 'b' logo's on the frame and the subtle tri-colour accent.
Really wish i could be at the bike show that you guys are taking over _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

Well all of the DB's will be at the Manchester Bike Show at Event City on 23/24th March and anyone willing to make a trip across will be more than welcome to talk Bimotas or any other topic that passes our way.
Looking like a good line up of 18 Bimotas ranging from 1983 right through to 2010, and we hope to raise awareness of the Forum of course, where we all met, and that Bimota are still in business, a fact not known by most outside of the "fraternity", not helped by there being no bikes available for Journalists to actually ride them in the UK and write about...
Good Selection of Final Line up of BB, DB, YB, SB, V-due and C3PO (Aka Tesi 1D race), only missing an HB, as owner cant make the Friday set up date, and a KB..... |

That’s one nice bike you have there
Nice details and nice built Bim is that.
If that bike had two more combustion chambers it would probably my favourite _________________ vince

I'm assuming you've tried them? Just looking at your Albert Einstein Quote, ....the man that never made a mistake never tried anything new??
Can be an acquired taste, or just love them from the get go, its the lightness, slimness, torque and engine braking that does it for me, although I like my singles and 4's also.... |

I must confess, I've never had one in my possession.
But that does not mean that I never had driven one.
Its like woman, you love them for their personality. _________________ vince

...and their unreliability... and their ability to spend all your money... and their ability to look good but not perform... but under all that, not built too well, designed rather badly, crap at doing the things that really matter and get very emotional.
I've ridden loads, spannered loads and actually owned them too (I forget if we're talking doochatees or women at this point)

True on that..
But, ….you still have some issues from the past.
I think ……a few sessions with the shrink.....will help _________________ vince

I don't think a shrink will improve a doochatee

Well you'll be glad to see that the Gold milk bottle tops have now made way for Some red Oberon ones.
Bike has even made its way through its VOSA test this Monday and was ridden back through blizard snow storms on the motorway....Yes that is snow on my helmet....Poor Bimota looked even worse, had to go at only 50mph or else I would have had to overtake the gritter truck in the inside lane. V5 and Road Tax applied for should get the all clear on Friday at the latest....
Made use of the steering damper to avoid head shake with the strong side winds, really useful...
Some nice old touches of attention to detail returning on Bimotas Fuel Caps...
Even swopped the rear brake reservoir cap, bottom right, all good to go now..
