Rebuilding my DB2 half fairing and currently test fitting the top/main fairing
Can anyone who's got one explain how the front stays work. (parts 12 and 13 in attached diag from the parts manual)
When I got the bike (Centre Point Australia!) it had the arms attached (see above) but I dont put much faith in anything they have assembled as my bike had bits missing and incorrect parts fitted when I got it (quite apart from the more obvious missing bits!)
I am assuming that one end is bolted to the main frame (in place of the normal bump stop) and that the flat pad end (photo 2 goes against the fairing and the indicator securing screw uses that as a fixing point?
In any case would appreciate confirmation on this _________________ Not as many bikes as I would like and already too many to keep up with! |

I’m no help regarding your question sorry Ralph. Centrepoint, yes, a good source of hard to find parts…. IF you know what you’re looking for… because they have no clue what they’re looking at. I saw first hand, the boxes and many bags of parts from all different bikes that they were trying to put together. Quite a shame really. _________________ '99 DB4 #104, '96 SB6 #1165, '94 DB2 J #652, '99 DB4 #088, '08 VTX1800, '93 ZXR750R M1, '95 ZXR750, '95 ZXR750 Race Bike, '94 CBR400rr NC29 Race Bike, '94 CB250, '49 BSA C10 250, '61 BSA A10 650, '89 ZXR750, '91 Ducati 851 |

I cant see the pictures you posted, nor post my own.
BUT I have a DB2 with a full fairing in the garage right now with all the bodywork off.
If you want, shoot me an email, or post in the FB group. _________________ Bimota (Tesi 1D 904SR, DB2, DB4, SB6,SB6R, SB8R, SB8K Santa Monica) Ducati (1000SS, Monster S4, 999R) Aprilia (RSV Mille R Haga) Honda (CL125s and 70s Chopper) |

Sorry Jaguar. Somehow missed your post.! Thanks for your offer in any case.
The fairing mounts are basically as shown in my photos and yes the indicator stem fixing screws go into them. Didn’t help that my LHS mount had a slight bend in it . Managed to bend it back to almost the right position and then use a rubber washed behind the fairing to bridge the small gap left. Onwards and upwards! _________________ Not as many bikes as I would like and already too many to keep up with! |
