Hello Everyone,
First time Bimota owner as of Feb 26 2022.
First question of the forum, How accurate is the registry list?
My Vin last 5 is 00036 which states standard SB8R but the bike "looks to be" a carbon. It also states that it is in Australia but my bike was as far as I know ordered for California.
Purchased with 1498 miles and was told it has a interesting history.

yeah the SB8RS VINs are mixed in with the SB8R ones. i'm still not sure what the total number is, i've seen both 150 and 250 thrown around.
they actually have the same amount of carbon. the only differences are:
-black paint instead of the red/white
-turn signals
-S bikes included the gold adjustable rearsets (i believe they included standard ones too?). those same rearsets were available as an accessory on the non-S bikes (i have them in silver on mine).
-carbon shift linkage (not sure on this one)
FYI the Bimota UK owners facebook group seems to have the most activity |
