Bimota Spirit says they have one used SB8R ECU, but he doesn't know if it was working or not.

super nice guy though, said he would just ship it to me so i could try it.

also ordered a new front brake switch from him since mine is dead.
new fuel sending unit showed up today that i found on ebay since the wires on mine were damaged.

couple random questions:
Is the SB8R supposed to have a clutch switch??
my bike has the mounting for it, but it's not mentioned in the manuals

also what is supposed to be mounted with the little bolt that goes in the notch at the front of the seat? the bolt is just sitting there with nothing attached underneath
EDIT: found the rubber block that mounts under here to help retain the gas tank.

Correct, you should see a ground signal on the black-cyan wire when you supply power to the ecu. I'm in the USA also. Yes, Bob is a great guy, I know him personally. He can fix you up!

I'm in Sydney and have never heard of Vectriq, and I've been around bikes a long time in this area. It seems odd that they don't even have an address on their website. I'd be cautious when they don't provide that.

That being said, I've saved their details and I'll check them out when I need some electrics tested.

If anyone contacts them and wants to send something to them, I'll do what I can to confirm their address is legit.

I would reach out to Bimota Classic Parts too.
They have been doing a fair bit of electronic repair on other bikes.

thanks!
i'm going to reach out to Bimota Classic Parts tomorrow.
it looks like they might actually have an ECU for sale? doesn't have the same part number as the catalog, but it was called an injection ECU for an SB8R

ok, i found the parts diagrams and confirmed there is NOT a clutch switch.
Also found that little rubber block that the screw in front of the seat goes to.

another mystery: i cannot locate the the flasher relay (all signals work, but they do flash fast. not LEDs either) or kickstand relay though.
it looks like something should hang here behind the headlight, but the wires for the turn signal go right into the main harness and into the frame.

i installed the new fuel probe. the new one had a slightly different connector and didn't fit through the hole in the tank! i hade to trim a bit of plastic off the sides of it.

ordered a new front brake light switch from Bimota Spirit and he has a used ECU, but doesn't know if it works. he said he'll send it to me to try though.
fingers crossed.

I did read the whole topic, looks a lot like a problem i had last summer, carried out a lot of work over winter.
Build up the bike(sb6)all okay but didn’t run, it crancked all the lights working but didn’t run after 3 dayssearching and sleepless nights my last option was jump start with a car battery.
The bike ran at the first click on the startbutton.
Solution was the battery was strong enough to cranck but was below 11 volts and then the cdi doesn’t have a good power supply and doesn’t give a spark to the sparkplugs because the coils are not energized enough.
I hope this helps to get the beast running.
