I've just purchased a 1986 DB1 that has a little crash damage & needs a new hydraulic clutch lever & a set of indicators.
I'm sure Bimota used proprietary items from standard Italian models for their bikes. Or maybe there are Bimota spares out there.
What more available Italian model would I be able to obtain a clutch lever & indicators from?
Thanks in advance

Good luck finding original indicators. They are like rocking horse shit

Many of the Parts Manuals can be found here: http://www.bimotaclassicparts.com/en/content/category/3-modelli-bimota

I don't own a DB1, so I can't offer direct help, however, my experience with other models is Bimota tends to use a combination of parts from the host bike that supplies the engine, other Italian bike parts (including scooters) and Italian parts (eg brakes).

A second observation is where Bimota have used parts from other bikes, they often keep using the part numbers from the original supplier (so a search of the part number can be useful).

In your case the DB1 uses a 750cc belt driven Ducati engine, so I suspect you may find the indicators come from Ducati, the brakes could be the same but more likely to be supplied by a brake manufacturer.

Sorry I can be more help,

Andrew...

Does the DB1 not use the standard Ducati units?

Hello PuchFace.....are you "john Martin" on FB??..Many of us on there migrated from here....I for one would prefer if you just post in one place...saves me answering the same question twice.....No...DB1's dont use anything from the ducati other than the engine...and the wiring loom...and thats it

Indicators very very rare....also found on Malanca motorcycles from the 1970's...an even rarer model and brand than Bimotas....master cylinders on both sides are brembo old skool radial.....I hated the "reverse" dog leg and painful heavy pull...so I upgraded the masters to brembo gold series...with adjustable levers and linked them into the existing reservoir pots atop the marzocchi forks....you can still buy the levers though....Real old skool Ducati/brembo units...search for the likes of Ducati 750F1 levers....Guzzis used them also...
